Why is everyone so eager to get rid of Coach? Not so long ago it was because of a bad season and now it is because of good ones. Maybe he wants to stay for a while.

I don't think anyone is saying they want him to go, it's just inevitable....bcoach wrote:Why is everyone so eager to get rid of Coach? Not so long ago it was because of a bad season and now it is because of good ones. Maybe he wants to stay for a while.

For sure there was a bit of sarcasm involved but there really is the possibility he would like to stay around a while.boonetown1 wrote:I don't think anyone is saying they want him to go, it's just inevitable....bcoach wrote:Why is everyone so eager to get rid of Coach? Re: Sunbelt is 4 and 1
The SunBelt was tied with the ACC for the football bowl cup standings, until Virginia Tech made that huge come back and beat Arkansas last night. The SunBelt may take the lead again after the Sun Bowl this afternoon. If so, it may be short lived as South Alabama will have to have a large game to beat Air Force though in my opinion. USA vs. Air Force, that sounds funny.

UNCC's only quality win was Southern Miss, who I think was missing their QB at the time. They beat Marshall and FAU, both of whom finished 3-9. And they beat a terrible Elon team.NewApp wrote:Didn't UNC-Concord beat Miss State or was that somebody else?JTApps1 wrote:USA beat SDSU and Miss. State. They can beat the Falcons tonight!

I agree. Satt does not strike me as the kind of guy to dump his alma mater, a team for which he played QB, and coached in some its greatest wins, for a huge paycheck. Plus his wife is from Spruce Pine, and his kids are still in high school. We ve got him for a few more years IMO, glad of it.bcoach wrote:For sure there was a bit of sarcasm involved but there really is the possibility he would like to stay around a while.boonetown1 wrote:I don't think anyone is saying they want him to go, it's just inevitable....bcoach wrote:Why is everyone so eager to get rid of Coach? Guess you are speaking to me. I don't want him to go, but we almost lost him this year. He "may" be gone after next year. And, I never was on the get rid of Satt bandwagon. I want Satt to be our coach for a very long time, but $2 million > $550,000.bcoach wrote:Why is everyone so eager to get rid of Coach? Re: Sunbelt is 4 and 1
Agreed, I believe Satt might stink around a little longer for reasons "money can't buy", as the ol saying goes: For example (as you stated) - I think Satt's son is a Freshmen at Watauga, plays on the football team - pretty good player too. (On a side note, Watauga's coach is pretty decent at running an offense, defense not so much). Anyway, I'm thinking Satt may want to keep his son at Watauga until after he graduates, just speculation. His wife is from Spruce Pine (when you grow up in the mountains it's hard to leave), and Satt is an App grad - there is loyalty there. Anyway, I'm guessing three more years then we need to really start worrying. I see Satt waiting around a little longer for something closer to home than Ohio.appstate77 wrote:I agree. Re: Sunbelt is 4 and 1
It's pretty clear Satt was at least interested in Cincinnati, and I haven't seen anything to indicate that he told them no. I don't think he's looking for the first bus out of town or anything, but I also don't see any reason to think that he wouldn't go if the right opportunity came along. And I think his spectrum of "right opportunities" might be a little wider than some want to believe.

Cool. I know what you mean. It does come up a lot. Almost every day his first season. Most of us know it takes about 3 years to get his players in and changes to happen. Re: Sunbelt is 4 and 1
I agree. There were only 15 head coach spots this year, so it was slim pickings. Next year might be different. Could be a lot of openings. Satt will be at a P5 school in the future. Just wish he would stay with us, but $$$ talks and he is a damn good coach too. He has to go but we, as fans, want him to stay.EastHallApp wrote:It's pretty clear Satt was at least interested in Cincinnati, and I haven't seen anything to indicate that he told them no. I respectfully disagree with your conclusion. Coach Satt is part of Coach Moore's coaching tree. From knowing and still having chats with Mark Spier, one of Coach Moore's priorities was looking after his staff. He did not want a decision he made to affect negatively on the lives of his assistants and their families. From all I hear Scott is the same. He is not going to run after the almighty dollar as an object of worship and leave his assistants is the snow. His Faith and that of his wife will cause Scott to be aware of other needs beyond his own. He will in all likelihood move on one day, but I think it not soon nor for reasons of greed and self absorption.
