I'd say GSUhas a pretty good record when compared to what we think of home field advantage at The Rock where we have OOC losses for at least the last five seasons.goapps93 wrote:It was mentioned on AGS that they lost to Central Arkansas during BVG years.Black Saturday wrote:Don't forget Gnatsboro is a tough place. Appstate89, The staying in Missoula idea sounds great except for one fact. To play for ASU you must be a STUDENT athlete. You cant keep the kids out of class for an entire week even if it is to the detriment to their sucess on the field.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

Re: Bracket Thread
Yep, they will have to take exams the week between those two games. Let's just hope that becomes an issue. I know that when we were winning the National Championships exams were taken in the hotel in Chattanooga. Maybe something like that could be worked out this year but I'd imagine we'll return to Boone, at least for a few days. Again though, we have to win two to have to worry about that.ASUPATCH wrote:Appstate89, The staying in Missoula idea sounds great except for one fact. To play for ASU you must be a STUDENT athlete. Re: Bracket Thread
I agree that academics has to come first, but they have tutors that can travel with them and they are at the end of the semester, so their time out of class will be very minimal. Besides, if they come back to Boone on Sunday after playing at Eastern Washington, they will have to leave on Tuesday or Wednesday going back to Montana St. They will likely miss less academic time by traveling than if they stay and work with their tutors. It's only a day or two of difference. Given the circumstances, I think it makes much more sense logistically, financially and even academically to just stay out there.ASUPATCH wrote:Appstate89, The staying in Missoula idea sounds great except for one fact. Re: Bracket Thread
The issue is going to be exams. If they can work out a way for all the players to take their exams on the road then I'd say it does make sense to do what you suggest. I don't see us leaving on Tuesday or Wednesday though. I think we'd fly up on Thursday at the earliest. That will depend, of course, on whether the game is Friday or Saturday. I think I'd rather pull for an upset in Cheney or Bozeman or both. Then we'd have a good shot at just staying Boone.

Re: Bracket Thread
"When" we beat Ill St and EW, isn't it possible we could play at home, even if Montana St wins? I thought only the top 2 seeds were guaranted home games throughout, and after that it was a bidding process as to who could line the NCAA's pockets the most. Or did this process change when they went to a 20 team playoff?canes_mj wrote:So question.....if we win our first game, is there a chance we could get another home game if teams get upset?

We're gettng ahead of ourselves a bit I'd say. I know as fans we can explore the scenarios, but we probably should really only focus on the for sure thing - Illinois State. It's do or die at this point.

If we get past ISU and IF we get past EW....most of the exams my two boys take are on line.....I'd say there would be no problem with them taking their exams anywhere they could find internet access!

Most final exam in LOTS of areas are NOT online exams. Don't know what areas do this, but it's not the majority.

Re: Bracket Thread
I guarantee they are complaining. They complain all of the time. I have never seen any fans that complain as much. IMO their team did a great job at UGA this past Saturday. I was watching the ESPN conversation board during/after the game and their fans complained too much..again.Black Saturday wrote:We've had some tough draws during our championship days, but this is potentially more favorable than Wofford or The Gnats got.AppSt94 wrote:This team seems to play better football on the road so I'm not so sure that this draw is a bad thing.
BTW, Are the Gumroots complaining about there position?

I think a team like Woffy could undo the herd of Bizun. NDSU will undrerate them for sure.

I think if Woff does make it past NH they can beat NDSU.

I do not take any exams any more so I do not know.....but I do not the higher ed is catching on with the auto grading advantages of the on line assessments...the time it cuts out is tremendous.MountainMan wrote:Most final exam in LOTS of areas are NOT online exams. My Sr, is taking exams in History, English, and Education and even the ones "in class" were on line....except 1 last year...
This fall in same areas....ALL were online mid-terms or papers.
As for my freshman taking classes all over the campus in all areas....they were all but 1 was on line for midterms.

I teach a couple of classes at the community college level and if/when I chose to have my students take an exam online, they are proctored in our Learning Center. It certainly saves class time and if it is an objective test, they are graded for me.

It wasn't too long ago, they would have won a playoff but their return man got stupid and gave the other team a TD. I'll bet old Ayers covers that base before they get on any plane.biggie wrote:But does Woff overlook NH?GreatAppSt wrote:I think a team like Woffy could undo the herd of Bizun.
