As always our preseason expectations get a little out of hand. We all dream of knocking off the big boy, and our prediction thread had a lot of close game or win predicted for App. In reality, we aren't even close to be able to compete on this level. If you lower your expectations just a little bit, you won't be as disappointed after a loss to a 15th ranked SEC team.

If we want to compete consistently with top 25 teams, we need to recruit top 25 players, have top 25 recruiting classes and generate the type of funding that a top 25 team can generate. Something that is not likely to happen in the near future. What does this mean? My opinion is that we are a really good mid level football team, probably top 50 or 60. I think considering our size and the recent move up, we are doing extremely well. And there is always the possibility that we will play a tough mistake free game and have a chance to win against a top ranked team.

As for Wake Forest, I think we should temper our expectations for that game as well. While they aren't Georgia, they are talented and capable and play in a tough conference. They won't roll over and will not want to lose to us.

Good Post 28. And as to the penalties, a top ranked SEC team has guys that are bigger, stronger, faster. So we did hold. If you aren't cheating you aren't trying and better to hold than give away an open shot at your QB or a breakaway TD. Dang guys, I saw what we have. it's a really good G5 team and probably middle pack P5 caliper team that I'm proud of.
