Re: Dollar General comments: ASU vs Toledo
Automatic tie ins are both a blessing and a curse...they guarantee us a place to play, they also regularly lock us into the same opponents year in and year out (same league anyway). That's also a self defeating model for the bowls themselves. Constancy breeds complacency. Complacency breeds low attendance.

Fron talking to my Toledo friends here, that seems to be the case. They were really hoping for the spot at Ford Field that opened up. Nobody has badmouthed the opponent (though some wish it was not a rematch) but its the location that bothers them the most.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 10:52 amMaybe they don’t like that the bowl that has first pick isn’t appealing to their fan base and that they had no say in the process?

Let's concentrate on finding a P5 team to knock off that we can somehow synchronize with them not suddenly having one of their best seasons in ten years when we play them.
See Miami, UGA, Wake Forest, Tennessee, etc.

Looks like there is a good chance Penn State will carry that tradition forward pretty well in 2018. As good as they were this year, they seem poised to take yet another step forward next year.
“When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”

I just hope he comes back to coach at App like Coach Satterfield did!
