Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
I called last week after GW to address my concerns. Seeing what transpired for homecoming, that was obviously a waste of time.
This situation is beyond discouraging. It is an embarrassment to invite friends to a venue that can't even supply a cold bottle of water. It should be an embarrassment to Appalachian State but I wonder.
I can't process this being a decision sourced from athletics, it being so bizarre and dysfunctional. Why would an entity like athletics compromise its best product (football) with a decision that serves to degrade basic conveniences of ticket holders as well as sacrificing income from concession sales? I have no inside information to offer into the situation other than an opinion that this decision is from higher levels that lack accountability and simply don't care.

Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
You have to give all this feedback to the ADs office. DG will respond.
Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
I sent an email to all the contacts listed in the thread, copied DG.
DG replied and said that they are looking into it. He is really good at what he does IMO.
No one else replied which is interesting.

I sent a text to the original “John” I spoke with last week. It pointed out concerns and fact that patrons feeling as if we were being ignored by staff about our concerns. My text didn’t get a reply.

It is unacceptable that no one other than DG responded to you. Think The Appalachian would write a story?

I didn't realize food services took over and I'm not surprised it went to hell in a handbasket.
One thing I remember from my college years after visiting other schools is that the on-campus food at Appalachian is among the worst in the state.

Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
I have one more gripe about the east side concessions. At the Troy game, my wife ordered a hot dog with cheese and chili. She got cheese in a cup that would not pour out. No knifes or spoons to spread. The week before they poured cheese on the hot dog. I also saw someone carrying nachos with the same cup of cheese. I'm tired of being treated as a second class citizen because we choose to sit on the east side. Our tickets cost us the same as those who sit on the west side. I contribute to the Yosef Club. I think we deserve better. Also, it's doesn't give a good impression to the visitors from other schools.

It was the same on the west side for your info on the cheese so you can get off your soap box.
I walked right up with no line 6 min before kickoff. Jesus people do you expect it to be like you at home with 20K people in one spot.

Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
I skipped concessions this game after reading all the complaints. After seeing the lines I will never get food or drink and waste so much time standing around.

The Woodlands BBQ sandwich is always tasty and is something that we get every game. I have bought Farmer's Wife hand pies and pizza when kids were small.....
If Woodland's ever we're to stop being around I don't think that I would buy anything.

Burger from the Cardinal food truck was very good on Saturday. Went to the Yosef Club Room at 1:00 and they were already out of food

Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
Well my daughter is a student and she said that they had the cheese poured over the hot dogs on the home side. Maybe some concessions had it and others didn't. However, all concessions should be the same.3rd wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:35 pm**EditAppScott89 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:33 pmI have one more gripe about the east side concessions. Re: Unacceptable east side concessions
East side - took advantage of the 3 for 10 deal a couple times..
1. Hot pretzel should have the word hot removed
2. Hot cocoa renamed to Luke warm cocoa (this was even prior to kickoff)
3. Nachos cheese was warmed maybe 10 seconds in microwave? It was cold and firm not hot and "gooey"
4. Gave you a cup with ice if you asked for it. (Someone else asked for it)
