You alluded to the author of that article suggesting App under a new coach might "regress to the mean." But we should dismiss the past 30 years in determining what that mean is?

You’ll have to forgive Nugget, he doesn’t understand what a mean is, or how it’s calculated.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 11:56 amYou alluded to the author of that article suggesting App under a new coach might "regress to the mean." Fortunately UNCC is in CUSA, which is full of cream puffs, so he has a nice, soft place to go rest.

Give 'em hell!

When YOUR team ONLY has a historical W/L of 0.314 over the life of your program, we know it feels good to "believe" your team will eventually move to 0.500. However, the truth is half the teams never actually achieve 0.500. Those teams may have a good year here or there but those are the exceptions not the rule for them. On the other hand, exceptional teams like App State live on the other side of the curve. Our lifetime W/L is about .65 and even better, more like 0.70 over the last 30 yrs. It is more than reasonable that we will continue to live in that neighborhood because the program is bigger than one person and that is based on empirical supporting evidence, not just a gut feel.

The Sun Belt showed great wisdom and had some luck in getting ASU and GSU. Much more powerful and two old rivals staying together. The Sun Belt has already had a great weekend though LSU is taking it to GSU.
