I remember when Coastal was going to come up and beat crap out of us in 2005. Richie Williams had the game over at the half 24-7.

BBQ Chicken on the tailgate menu. We got this one. Vinegar based sauce, as it should always be.

This doesn't appear to be the same Coastal Carolina from previous seasons. They have a different swagger this season, likely coming from winning the games that they should win and beating a Les Miles coached Kansas squad. Hopefully the App State players aren't looking back because Coastal will be looking forward to this week.

App officially has the bullseye that was omnipresent in the SoCon.

Noticed the first game they had 4 INTs, we need to get a few of those from them.

I just went to YouTube and watched their highlights from this year.....while they are a good team, they aren't "come to Boone and best us" good. They have a QB that likes to throw but he throws int's. They have 8 TD passes and 5 int's. To contrast, we have 6 passing TD's to 1 int. I think they will hang for a quarter but in the end will peter-out

Their fans mindset is that of their team. I don't care what we think of their talent. This game is the biggest game for us to date because it is our next game. We have to wear them down with their our depth and beat them with some big plays as well as pound the run on them. I hope to see Evans with 100+, ZT with 3-4 TDs, and our defense finally put together 4 good quarters. Their fans are indeed right that a win over us would be the biggest in their program's history.

That was a great game. I'm pretty sure that was the game where we had a 2 kegger in the Greenwood Lot and probably contributed to kegs not being allowed at tailgates anymore... sorry.

They are top 10 in several defensive categories. This will be the best CCU Sun Belt team they will have fielded to date.

I expect to win, however, Coastal is pretty good and would not be shocked to take an L. We only beat them by 16 last year and 8 the year before. If they are much improved and they already play us tight, our guys need to bring it or we lose.
I expect we may have a certain player available this week who didn’t play when we beat them by “only” 16 last year. ;)
Please don't remind me that game ever happened. Between the sun/shadow issues and backup QBs that game was a tough watch.
With all due respect, that was probably the most complete game that we played last year.

A lot of questionable people from injuries, no one named.

Yep. It helped that the Charlotte Observer hyped it ALL week and the Coastal Coach ran his mouth every day. Lots of Metrolina folks there game day.

Saying no one definitely out currently. I would assume Franklin would be out.

Something that I haven't seen mentioned is our O line play. It seemed like Zac had much more time against UNC than UNCC, more time to step into his throws and better overall. Hope that continues against the Chants

While i think you are right, it looked to me like unc was lined up to stop the run. The O line did great! Our L tackle is the real deal (name escapes me). Johnson?

How many Coastal fans do we expect? Did they sell out their allotment?

I think the offense is good enough if they stack the box like the heels did we will pass, if they play coverage we will run it down their throats all day long. Hopefully no significant injuries on defense and will be similar results to Saturday vs heels or better on what we give up.

I have never read the CCU board before. It seemed like a congenial, levelheaded, reasonable, and overall pleasent bunch, at least as far as college football fan boards are concerned.
