Re: Corey Sutton
Many times, the decision to go or stay depends on one question: Do I like to be in school and do I like to go to class?
Re: Corey Sutton
Okay, I’ll be the one to do it. A last name that ends in an “s” does not need an apostrophe. Evans, not Evan’s. Carry on.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 8:06 pmIt really is none of our business to give Evan’s advice on what we feel is in the best interest of him or his family. I’m sure your intentions are honorable, but this is up to him and his family, if this is actually an issue.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 4:53 pmI hope all of you approach Evans and encourage him to stay in school! He is getting heavy pressure and the idiots out there who have no clue the danger of coming out early in this class are loud. This RB and WR class is one of the best in a long time. Next year won't be nearly as good so he has a better shot to go in the top 100. I'm told he is planning to go but I do hope enough people show him how much we care and encourage him to stay.

Re: Corey Sutton
Can we move all the talk about Evans going pro to another thread? Seams a touch disrespectful of Sutton’s injury.

I trust Drinkwitz and company to give good advice to Evans. Sutton has a twitter account. I encourage those that tweet to send him words of support.

Re: Corey Sutton
Thought this thread was about Sutton but anyway regarding Evans I hope that before he makes a decision he reaches out to the experts on this board. We seem to have some folks with NFL connections, inside scoops and general knowledge of how things work. Those same experts missed their calling and should have become D1 top 25 college coordinators. If any of our players asked my opinion it would be- do whatever you want to do. Be happy.

It is 100% an issue. I wish it was not true but all signs are that he is going pro early. I think we will be fine but he will be better off if he stays.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 8:06 pmIt really is none of our business to give Evans’ advice on what we feel is in the best interest of him or his family. I think it is good for these players to see how much they are appreciated. It is 100% their decision but I think sometimes these players think the agents are the only ones who love them because they give them so much attention and fly to our games to see them. The reality is these agents don't care anything about these kids. They just see them as money for them. We are the ones who truly invest money in them without expecting money back in return.

Re: Corey Sutton
You invest money in the athletic department not the players. There are many ways that you can show your support. Show up to games, tell them nice job or you appreciate the effort. But an “investment” in them does not make it your place to give unsolicited advice to a kid that you don’t know.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 11:38 pmIt is 100% an issue. Re: Corey Sutton
If there was a world where Darrynton would hang out with me. If he came up to me and said "I am forgoing my final year and heading to the NFL." I would look him in his eyes and say Thank you. Thank you for the bowl win against Toledo. Thank you for shutting up Happy Valley. Thank you for busting our Defenses ass while you were on practice squad working your way back from injury. Thank you for being selfless enough to switch positions when the team needed you too. Thank you for always flashing that 100 Watt smile. And most importantly Thank You Mr. Evans for giving your All to OUR APPALACHIAN STATE!

Re: Corey Sutton
And then you say we would love for you to play one more year with what might be the best offense we have ever had. We would love to see you tear up Wisconsin next year. We would love to see you in your final game next year on New Years Day. But if you want to move on and play on Sundays go for it and best of luck.NavyApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 6:58 amIf there was a world where Darrynton would hang out with me. Re: Corey Sutton
Ummmm how about we don't do this. Let the kid, his family, and his coaches make the decision. He couldn't care less about "advice" coming from a fan or fellow student.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 4:53 pmI hope all of you approach Evans and encourage him to stay in school! Instead, compliment him on an amazing career at ASU and thank him for all the memories. Then in private, hope we get one more season of them.

Or. Declare for the draft and not make it or wait one more year and expand and showcase your talents.

Re: Corey Sutton
I truly believe Darrynton has showcased enough...I'm sure the PSU game put him on the scouting radar last year. He is as good a RB as he will get....His workouts will be at slot and as a PR/KR

Re: Corey Sutton
Yes you are right but I don't like seeing our guys fooled by agents who simply are telling them to go in order to enrich their pockets. I wish all of our players luck at the next level but we don't have a single player on our roster, nor have we ever, who should go pro early. You should only go if you are going to be a high pick and that just won't happen. There are players every year who decide to come back to school instead of going in the 2nd or 3rd round because they want first round money.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 5:59 amYou invest money in the athletic department not the players. Evans will make a roster but why risk going to play for a bad team and be 3rd string when you can have one more year of college, win big, enjoy not having to worry about the NFL politics, and just have fun for one more year? When they get to the NFL it is all business and it is cutthroat. He could be cut and out of the league in 15 months from draft day. I hate to see that for any player. Unless you are a high pick or have had a really rough home life where your dad is in jail or your family is broke I don't see why you risk it. 5th or 6th round is not worth giving up a special 2020 season IMO. Plus, he could definitely improve his stock. It would not shock me if he went in the 3rd round or better in 2021 since that RB class won't be as stacked as this one.
