To be honest you pretty much have to now. The new early signing period is 12/18-12/20 so new hired coaches have a tiny window to assemble their staff and lock down recruits that may be fleeting because they originally agreed to play for a different staff.

I agree. Our players deserve all the credit for being the studs that they are and being professional through this whole year. If anything, they were held back in my opinion.

Next season will be important for App State football though. Early season games at Wake and Wisconsin and an upper class man laden two deep.

I don't fault Drink for leaving but...Missouri, of all places? They and Arkansas are dumpster fires. Missouri doesn't have the cash to compete with UGA and Florida in the east. The gulf between the new guys and the old guard of the SEC is widening steadily as well.

I'd wonder how much NC State's fall from grace this season had to do with Drink getting a look?

Just finished ranked higher than Mizzou next season and we will be good too.

Drink represented our university well. We finally beat not one, but two P5s and led us to historic success. We should know how the game is played by now, and should consider this crappy reality when choosing our next leader. Onward and upward. We are App State, not Eli Drinkwitz and our trajectory is still straight up.

Pssst... SEC teams...The first play of every series and after every first down is a handoff up the middle for no gain.

This is not a huge loss. From what I'm hearing, some key players are happy about it. He definitely wasn't a favorite like Satt was. Players knew he would be gone sooner than later. If it weren't for a team led culture, Drink would have failed here. Our team leaders did a lot more to keep the team together than Drink did.

Side note, his strength coach will not work well at a SEC school.

If we lose our S & C Coach is Jeff Dillman still available? Hope Roof stays until his son graduates. Good mentor for Coach Gas & Coach Smith, plus the players love him and we lose some KEY players on Defense. Last year's Defensive recruits are "singing his praises". At least Coach Roof silenced the "I Hate Roof=Whiner's Club" after our first two games.
