FALL 21 QB?

It never ceases to amaze me how some guys on this board can watch some limited high school highlights and then make a determination either way as to whether a kid will or won’t play, particularly at QB. Have we ever had a dude like DBG at QB? I personally will let our coaches make the call. I agree that we could take a step back after this season due to the huge loss of players. I can’t recall the last time we had this many senior contributors. That being said I’m quite certain that the guys in the wings are also talented and hopefully are just waiting for their turn. Clemson lost their entire defensive line to the NFL yet reloaded. I by no means compare us to Clemson but it’s not crazy to believe that talented younger kids are on the roster. In regards to the next QB who knows but on paper DBG is very interesting.

We lost a ton after 2017 and got markedly better the next year. Obviously doesn’t always work out that way, but a big drop off isn’t a given.

The App bookstore sold a shirt in 95 that said “we don’t rebuild, we reload”. That still seems to be the case today, with the slight anomalies being coaching and system changes.

DBG is a STUD! Just can't wait to see him ball. Seen film of DBG at IMG, against good competition, he stood out. Seen Shuler three times last year. DBG is just the better QB prospect and its not really close. Maybe its because of better coaching at IMG or playing better competition but Shuler is in for a rude awakening. No more passing against 5'6 dbs

His tape is nice. But theres a reason he went from a top 50 QB to outside of the top 100. Kid is a player -- no doubt about that. He has some fundamental flaws though. If he can fix those, he has a chance to be great. But, at the same time, being a QB at the college level is as much mental as physical. Physically, he's there. I don't doubt that. I don't know about mentally. I hope hes there after a year at the college level, but I don't know. I can guarantee Clark would rather a QB with more of the mental than physical in the type of offense we run though.

DC Tabscott was his first choice of available Qbs when he was hired. Could see him as a 4 year starter. Maybe a Taylor Lamb situation where other guys get the opportunity, but he eventually wins out
