It's an odd model, but has some merit for their situation.havefunkc wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:13 amSomething doesn't smell right...

The mountaineers and the Irish would make for some prime time fun. Who on this board would travel to see that game (assuming we could get all the tickets we could consume) and not be afraid of the COVID monster?
I would do that one.
I would do that one.

Re: App versus Campbell- 9/26
So Campbell is just trying to play a few random non-conference games in the fall with hopes of resuming and playing again in the Spring? Interesting. Can we really afford to pay anyone?

I'd assume that's why we're playing Campbell instead of a SOCON opponent maybe. Campbell would take less money vs SOCON to play us.

I was looking at Campbell's schedule from last season, they're a fairly decent FCS team after all. Off top of my head they beat Mercer, Presbyterian, Gardner Webb (something west carolina can't do), and a few others.

I don't know how a conference is going to play in the spring and again in the fall. That is a lot of games in one year for a kids body. I think that is just a bad plan.

In the big south case it is still the same number of games probably less with a shortened spring conf schedule.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 2:48 pmExactly... spring football ain’t happening.
But still spring football probably won’t happen.

We played 45 games in a three-year stretch in 05' to 07'. Each season those games were played in a 4-month stretch.biggie wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:21 pmIn the big south case it is still the same number of games probably less with a shortened spring conf schedule.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 2:48 pmExactly... spring football ain’t happening.

If it were to happen, and they played 4 games now, had time for recovery, then played a 7-game conference slate in the Spring, it's possible. Especially, if they play in place of Spring Practice.
