We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Favorite song played in stadium
I stayed and listened to The Tennesse Waltz after all games I have attended at KBS.
I have Danced to the Tennessee Waltz many times after big wins at KBS and away games as well.

Why would I be sarcastic? Whenever I get my trumpet out to play around, the solo is the second thing I play after Yikas. Maybe you’ve heard me play recently, because I guess that could be mistaken for sarcasm. Sarcasm? Because that, accusations, and snark are what I normally get from most of you guys. Not playing the victim or seeking attention, just stating a fact.AppinVA wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:33 pmWhy would I be sarcastic? Tradition (like a lot of the other stuff that is done) Mountains. Big Band Music that some of the old folks liked in another generation (including mine) plus the fact that the Band of Distinction does a better job of it than most any other university marching bands do. A former colleague and former band director (Tim Hedrick ASU Class of '70 something) says the band likes playing it and playing it well.
That's all I know, plus it leaves me misty eyed is why I, myself like it. Always look forward to it

There is no significant connect. The band played it one time and fans liked it.

"The Tennessee Waltz." The Waltz, as it is known by members, was added as a standard of the band in the 1970s, when the fans began requesting the song be played after every game after it was played as part of a halftime show.

And I hope they continue to in perpetuity even though many would rather hear Led Zeppelin or something. Always need something for the older generation. Just bear with us. Besides it goes way further back than the 70's It was played at half time and/or after the games at least couple or more times in the '60's.
NC and TN have more in common than differences.

Dude what is wrong with you? He’s told you like 3 times he was in the band and he likes that song. Why are you trying to fight with him when he’s agreeing with YOUR position? This is why people go off on you. This right here. I’ve read this entire thread and you keep responding to appinva in your usual passive aggressive way as if you are disappointed he’s not arguing with you. Geez man do you even read what is being written to you or have you decided beforehand it’s the fight you crave? And yes as usual you are playing the victim.NewApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 7:17 pmSarcasm? Because that, accusations, and snark are what I normally get from most of you guys.
