At some point he needs a statue. My vote is for it to depict him being carried off the field - Michigan would be the obvious choice. The statue should be placed either on the corner of stadium dr and the ticket plaza (may be too crowded with the Rock near by) or at the entrance to the West Side gates.

Statue tributes are almost always done posthumously and they are very expensive. To date, there's not even a statue of Dean Smith anywhere on the UNC campus. Eventually, there will be.

Irwin Belk of Charlotte is the philanthropist ASU's development folks need to pursue to get the funds. His generosity has put bronze statues on 30 collegiate campuses all across the state (both public and private). He's responsible for the statues in ASU's new Information Commons. He may have funded the Touchdown Yosef statue near Newland Hall. He also funded The Ram statue at UNC and a ton of other statues at ECU, UNC-W, Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, Elon and you name it!

Belk more recently funded the statues at the entrance to UNCC's Richardson Stadium.

Isn't our track "Ike Belk Track?"

It may be. He's been the benefactor in track & field facilities all over the state. And our "old" library is the Carol Grotnes Belk Library...named years ago in honor of Ike's wife, who passed away just three short weeks ago.

Honestly, I think the Football Hall of Fame is a big reason - if not THE reason. My understanding is it is customary for them to honor living inductees and issue their plaque at their "home" stadium during a game.

Certainly CC being gone helps.

I understand Corey's emotional comments and excuse them for what they are, his deep feelings for his coach and mentor. I hope most members of this board can appreciate Corey's devotion to his coach and put his comments in proper perspective. Welcome Home Coach Moore and Corey Lynch.

I'm not going to chastise a young fella for supporting his coach, even if his comments were off. Let's forget and forgive and move on. We have a lot to look forward to.

Many universities furnish permanent offices to retiring professors. This gesture allows the retiring prof to stay connected with his discipline and the university at large. Why not offer Coach Moore a permanent office in the Athletics Center where he would have the opportunity to continue to influence young athletes and be a tremendous resource to the other active coaches.

That was granted and at the end of that year he renigned on the deal. The AD, Trustees and Peacock were all involved. I love Jerry and he is a friend and I would never boo Corey Lynch but facts are facts and Corey apparently doesn't know them . Very happy all this can finally be put to rest and I hope Jerry will give Scott and the team the support they deserve. I'm glad Jerry is being honored but the only reason it hasn't happened before now is because of Jerry. With Cobb and Peacock I guess he now feels like he can come back. I sure hope so and all this will be over.

Jerry's feeling was "don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining". Don't hang on to CC and blame JM. The blame train has left the track and JM and AppState is still here. Do we have to ever say CC name anymore? He is dead to APPState, he has no history here. This is about JM not Corey, not CC. If anyone wants to hang on to how right CC was, I think another school and BB has his boosters on it.

This will be JM day.... no one will be looking for the "CC was right" banners.

I believe Rifle is refering to Dexter Coakley, not Dexter Jackson who graced the cover of SI. Thus the 27 other players comment is irrelevant.
