I said this last night. I don't know if it was due to the short turnaround, but we did look slow.

You are correct young VP - ASUMountaineer - the new look GS offense is very similar to the old look GS offense - they just don't put the QB under center and don't use the double wing set - they still run the read option, the dive, the speed option - not as much counter action as before but better passing formations --- they are fast!!!

Yep. We might well have lost to the best team in the league tonight. Sucks that GSU is probably going to win the Sun Belt title, but I think we'll win a few games too.

And hey, we'll go to the same bowl they do. ;)

Yep, after the Michigan game, Michigan was going to be undefeated headed into their showdown with Ohio State and possibly win the Big Ten.

Just because a teams spanks us doesn't mean that team gets a pass for superior status. This year GSU is a better team than APP, I don't know if they'll win our conference after 2 conference games against bottom feeders South Alabama and APP. This season we are young and inconsistent in our key positions at best.
I was not one of those talking up Michigan after that game. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I am not saying GS will win the SB just because they beat us. I'm saying it because they've played 5 games now and have been arguably the most consistently impressive team in the league, AND their schedule is absurdly favorable.

Remains to be seen whether App will be a bottom feeder. I don't know where you got the idea that USA is, though. They weren't last year, were projected to challenge for the league title this year, and are one of only three SB teams to win an FBS OOC game this season.

I'm not saying anyone has to be thrilled with where we are. I certainly thought we had a chance to have another win or two at this point. I just don't think we look so far gone that the rest of the season is hopeless. Still hoping to win a few more games and set up for a good 2015, which was always the goal anyway.

I didn't refer to anyone specifcally saying that on MMB. If you read MMB enough, you get the vibe that the team is still close championship form, which clearly isn't the case.

South Alabama looks to challenge for the league title just like we do at the moment.

Admittedly, it does sound bad when you make stuff up and pretend someone actually said it.

Here are last year's standings where "bottom feeder" USA finished 4-3 in league play: http://espn.go.com/college-football/con ... conference

USA Today: " I think this team can win the Sun Belt. ... I'm going to peg USA in third, but it's a fairly close competition." http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nc ... /11209095/

Here's a composite prediction based on 20+ preseason publications and models. USA was picked third: http://preseason.stassen.com/consensus/ ... l#sun-belt

Doesn't mean they'll turn out to be right, of course. But that's what the consensus was. And then they backed that up with the Sun Belt's only road FBS win so far this season.

Don't know what your rationale for calling them a bottom-feeder is, but there's mine for saying they probably aren't.

We do have some talent and we play well in spurts but we are farrr from consistent and we basically beat ourselves. Biggest problem is same as last year. We cannot score inside 10 yard line consistently. the last two weeks we have been inside the 10 yard line and come away with ZERO points FOUR times. We ain't gonna win games when you can't score. Our OL is still weak by FCS standards. I sure hope that the OL redshirts are better. I don't think we could make one yard more than 50% of the time. PITIFUL!!

We NEVER seem to use the TE in the redzone ,yet we have TE's that can catch and get YAC. And, I hope the Redshirts are better next year too for the OL, but then we get to listen to Satterfailed once again make the excuses for us being young. As far as us being slow, well last night that was VERY obvious from their first possession. When the QB broke through the line for the TD I dont believe anyone chasing got within 5 yards of him He just kept gopin and going and gone.

I sure hope they want to win. Otherwise they should get out of coaching. I just get tired of the same excuses. We're young, we tackled poorly, we didnt make plays, etc. Goes back to coaching.

I'm not making anything up, if you have time, go back and read the last 4 weeks. Hell, I was spit on nearly for saying The Gnats would be favored 8-10 points in our game, but looks like I was low in my thoughts the line was actually around 19, and they covered.

Past performance is no promise of future results. After 4 weeks of looking at this years results the 2 programs look like bottom feeders of the conference to me. But what the heck, my Black and Gold bong got broken by that crowd from Villanova and Matt Szczur a few years ago.

I try not and pile on with the Cline stuff as he has plenty of haters on here and I have certainly let me feelings be known in the politics folder so more power to you in the politics folder. Even with Liberty I don't post anything until some one posts about how great of an add to the SB Liberty would be. And quite frankly had it been some multiple sentence argument about some point you were making then again I might not like it but I doubt I would be responding.

However jc/NewApp there is no need for this in a post about App athletics. If in some way it added to some conversation then so be it, but this does not and it is just not needed. Can you do us a favor and back off this sort of stuff? It is wasting my bandwidth of having to scroll through something so worthless. And I would prefer to not to block and ignore you as I do enjoy hearing your comments sometimes. Just practice a bit of restraint.

Classy people don't need to repeat the same tired line over and over and over again. Spice it up a bit.
