Before the season, you said that your goal was for the team to improve every week this year, to reach its potential, and be in position to have a breakout season in 2015.

1) Do you feel that, to this point, the team has played to its potential and improved every week?

2) If the team finishes this year with only 1 or 2 wins, is it still fair for us to consider a bowl game the standard for success in 2015? Or will you ask us for another season of just hoping for improvement, in which 4-8 should be considered "moving in the right direction"?

Coach, are you beginning to realize that having a woody is not always a good thing?

Amongst the sarcasm (which is appreciated, and funny), there are some very good questions here.

Is there an APP-STATE Beat? Are there writers out there devoted to Appalachian Football?

Not a large one, but Steve Behr (Watauga Democrat) and Tommy Bowman (W-S Journal) would be considered our full-time beat writers.

First and goal from the 9 with 2 TO's and a min to go, playing for the FG is not attacking  ,with our kicking game it's curling up in a fetal position.
Bingo! I was wondering the exact same thing.

Thursday on Mountaineer Talk would be a good time to ask many of these questions, but Scott won't be there in person as the team is bussing to Atlanta on Thursday, then Troy on Friday. It would take just as long to fly with the bussing and waiting at the airports as it would to bus the entire way at once. One of the disadvantages of Sun Belt travel and no close airport.

Not exactly on topic, but it grinds my gears to hear DJ and Brownie yukking it up like they're kicking back watching the spring game while App is getting dump-trucked by USA or losing to Liberty. I know they have to toe the company line, but I guess like some people want to see the coach yell and look angry, I want the announcers to sound like they're not having so much fun watching us crap the bed.

If you think Brownie tows the company line then I don't know what you're smoking. He hopes that Satt is building this program the right way but will criticize with discrimination.

DJ is an associate AD who is paid a salary by the school to be the voice of App State among other things. He's a trooper who deserves a lot of credit for putting on a brave face on dark times.

Both are App State diehards. I can guarantee you they aren't having fun announcing losses.

The comment about toeing the company line wasn't my criticism, it was me giving them a slight amount of leeway.

I don't know how much fun they're having, I can only comment on what I hear. And two weeks in a row, I've heard them giggling like they were having a grand ol' time as the clock wound down. Maybe they're laughing to keep from crying, I don't know.

Perhaps, I only listened to the very end on the radio. I thought it was him but could have been someone else.

When I heard Steve wasn't going to be there I tuned out - no offense to Lanny, I just really like Steve's commentary and his honest depiction of what is happening or what just happened ---

I do, too, but I think he goes a bit overboard with it on occasion.

They mentioned during the game that Brownie was at a wedding in the Caribbean. Lucky guy.

+ eleventy million!
Brownie is a huge asset. i would much reather have a call-it-like-I-see-it, rather than a complete homer.

It's ironic that Mississippi State would be mentioned. About this time last year their fans were calling for Mullen's head. Now look where they are
