I guess Coyote Kitchen uses vegetables straight from their own garden.

Regarding meals in Boone, I think it will take us a bit to sort that one out - waaay to many good suggestions. We're staying in Blowing Rock, so I'm pretty sure we'll hit up Woodlands. I'm looking forward to trying the Carolina bbq, as we're typically have Texas, or sometimes Kansas City bbq here.
Thanks again for all the great suggestions!

I can solve one problem for you. AppStateNews invited you to the Liberry Deck for tailgating. We are going to have Que for the tailgate. Pork Que this time. ...and will have eastern and western style sauces. you can choose.
You are more than welcome to stop by and enjoy.
We are cooking a whole pig for a group of kids in an honors program the night before. So hence the que for the tailgate.
PM me for details and we can accommodate your North Carolina Que questions.
Plus we have the infamous BHG...Beer Hat Guy at our tailgate.....if he shows up on time....You have to meet "the Infamous" .....
Safe travels!

I've never eaten there, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.BurlingtonApp wrote:A damn good one too.NewApp wrote:Gonzo's recommendation for a Boone restaurant.IGgreer wrote:What the hell is Coyote Kitchen?NewApp wrote:I guess Coyote Kitchen uses vegetables straight from their own garden.

Probably not, but I bet they do more than heat them up, dump them in a bowl and put them on your table.NewApp wrote:I guess Coyote Kitchen uses vegetables straight from their own garden.

I second Mast General Store in Valle Crucis. It is only 15 minutes from Boone, but the drive is through a beautiful pastoral valley and the original store a is classic general store with a pot belly stove which is still an active post office, black smith shop, one room schoolhouse, and the annex has an old fashioned candy barrel and sells great outdoor wear. There is also a neat locally sourced restaurant right across the street.
The Parkway is a must. 45 miles an hour speed limit throughout and lots of traffic in October so don't expect to make good time - that's not the purpose if your on that route!
It is Homecoming weekend. Apptoberfest should be a blast. The parade is Friday and will go right through the center of town.
I am really excited about the game and having Wyoming in Boone. Having the state flagship university in our stadium may be a first! Thanks for coming and have a great time!
