We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. I look forward to making new friends in 213 this fall. So glad to be back as a season ticket holder and finally able to join Yosef Club as well.

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
I agree with your broad point. I would just say that what you've just described is a fan base that kept selling out games as long as the program was winning, then stopped when they had enough down years that it was clear it wasn't just growing pains under RichRod and his new system. They were initially excited about RichRod, as they had grown tired of Carr (and of getting outclassed by Ohio State). And of course, it didn't help that their on-field downfall coincided with a nationwide trend of falling attendance.T-Dog wrote:Except that Michigan retained their sellouts and wait list well after Canham. They maintained it even through the three years of Rich Rod,EastHallApp wrote:Except that Michigan did win 9-10 games practically every year when Canham was AD. By the time Brandon took over, Michigan football was a disaster. Brandon was a terrible AD, but let's not act like all those fans in the '70s and '80s who loved tailgating with their buddies were selling out the stadium to watch their team lose.
who went 15-22. The last year of Rich Rod was the first year of Brandon, who then broke everything that was tested and true.
Winning helps and Michigan won a lot, but don't make it the end-all be-all of a program from a PR standpoint. Michigan won because of great coaches, but they were able to keep winning because of the base of support they built up, a lot of which had to do with the family atmosphere.
Also, I believe RichRod contributed to that erosion of the "family" atmosphere within the program as well, though I haven't read as much about it as you have.
I would just ask how many programs sell out year after year during extended stretches when they aren't winning. I believe South Carolina did so for a number of years, but I don't know of many others.

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
Rich Rod did nothing to contribute to "erosion of the family atmosphere within the program". The constant undermining and lack of support from Dave Brandon and Lloyd Carr is what lead to that deterioration. If you'd like to read more about the situation you can read "3 and Out" to find out how incompetent the Michigan administration and athletic department had become.
I agree with T-dog though, games should be advertised and a party/experience. Kinda hard to drum up interest to get all the way to Boone for App-ULM for the casual fan.

I am gonna go ahead and say it since we are headed that way....to better the atmosphere/game day the administration may need to look at the tailgating times and also alcohol rules. Wither you are for it or against it, I don't really care but as for me spending more time around great friends and being able to have a few more drinks with my dad would be awesome.

Re: RE: Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
I have been in 215 since it was built. Those are great seats. I will tell you I think a lot of the lost season tickets sales were in that section. It is never full anymore. I always have to kick someone out of my seats because people see the aluminum and just wander up. It really pisses me off that the red coats don't check tickets for the Yosef sections. Other than that you will see lots of casual fans especially up high. Again, I love that section and my seats.1ASU78 wrote:I was delayed in getting mine. I somehow missed the 2_15_16 deadline to upgrade my half season package. I went from 4 seats to 3 this year and have sat in 211 since the deck went up. When I called 211 was full. I was moved to 215

I agree wholeheartedly. When I go to somewhere like Lenoir Rhyne and see how they tailgate (before, during, half-time and after the game) it makes me realize how bush our tailgate rules are.3rd wrote:I am gonna go ahead and say it since we are headed that way....to better the atmosphere/game day the administration may need to look at the tailgating times and also alcohol rules. Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
Lodging discounts would be absolutely huge for us. Hotel prices in Boone in general, let alone in the fall, are nuts. We would definitely attend more games if this weren't the case. I'm not holding my breath though.huskie3 wrote:We are discovering the product will not sell itself there needs to be promotion. The parking perks are helping with YOSEF increases. I would like to see discounts with lodging instead of upping prices so those traveling more than 4 hours one way would choose to enjoy game and stay the night. Tie the events together as only way to get benefits (charge the leaf lookers the higher price).
I just noticed APP is looking for an assistant in ticket office to promote sales.

Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
First time buying season tickets. Got my seat assignment a few days ago. Section 205 Row NN. I'm trying to figure out if I have aisle seats. How high do the seat numbers go? I have 29-33. Decent section/seats?

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
Section 205 starts at BB and goes up to BBB so you're close to the middle/upper top. And you'll probably be closer to the 25-30 yard line on scoreboard side. The wife and I will be behind you on row BBB seats 6 and 7Lowcountry App wrote:First time buying season tickets. Got my seat assignment a few days ago. Section 205 Row NN. Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
I believe they go up to 37 that high. I have aisle seats in 205 row KK (first above the opening) and 37 is at the end of the aisle. As for the section, 205 is great!Lowcountry App wrote:First time buying season tickets. Got my seat assignment a few days ago. Section 205 Row NN. I'm trying to figure out if I have aisle seats. At the risk of being labeled a SoCon Stone Age wannabee, I have to agree with you. It will just take some time to build up some SB rivalries.WVAPPeer wrote:This is true --- we on the board all know that this schedule is the best ever however outside of Miami (which is the biggest ever) many of our fans just aren't into Georgia State and Idaho and UL Monroe, etc., like they were into the rivalries built up against Furman, Wofford, Elon, GA Southern (of course, still a rivalry) and even games against WCU --- I think this will take some time/\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:It appears as though not as many are taking the "Guaranteed ticket for Miami game" bait. As AtlantaMountaineer points out, favorable date wise, but competition outside of Miami is pretty weak.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm pumped about the upcoming season and making some new friends. Now I just have to purchase some tailgating gear.AtlantaMountaineer wrote:Welcome to 205, I have been in 205 for years now and love it. I am on the opposite side of 205, Row RR Seats 5-6. 213 Row J season tickets, though I may only be at the Miami and Texas State game. My buddy and I are splitting them up, but we might have some available tickets for the other games...

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
Paid the upped Yosef price to remain in 211, but in my opinion its the best seat in the house so I cannot complain too much. I like others, hope to see a little less aluminum than the past few years. Always more fun when the place is rocking.

Re: Season Tickets - How Are We Doing?
To answer the original question.
http://www.appstatesports.com/ViewArtic ... =210949536Appalachian State exceeded last year’s full season ticket sales on Thursday and is on pace to reach its 2016 goal of 7,500 season tickets
Sales remain brisk and, therefore, season tickets are now limited in some seating areas at Kidd Brewer Stadium. For example, season tickets in sections 208, 209, 217 and 218 are SOLD OUT.
