Re: What we learned
What we learned is that we are a lot better than given credit for and the Vols are not quite as good as billed.

NO WAY a team such as App plays with and nearly beats big bad, possible SEC east champ might go to the final 4 UT unless it's because- UT used vanilla offense, UT didn't try very hard, looked past us, bad call on the targeting foul. What am I missing?
Is it beyond the realm of possibility that we are just damn good? I'm going with that one. The vanilla offense is just stupid. UT has really high aspirations (as they should). If the coaching staff was determined to stick with a certain basic offense even in the face of a possible upset they were crazy.
this is where you are putting words on my page. I didn't say targeting shouldn't have been called. Right call was made. The offense was very vanilla, I have watch enough TN football to know that. I already said App State played a hell of a game and deserved to win. All in all that is not the same TN team I will be cheering on all year. I hope you guys have a good year but when it comes down to it TN is 1-0 after playing a terrible game.

No doubt and that is why JRM watched the game from the locker room.

Re: What we learned
What I saw was a FRESHMAN kicker miss an extra point and FG almost identically in his first NCAA FB game. He will learn. He has plenty of leg. I just wish we used the TE a little more and especially in the OT. My only criticism of Taylor was the throw in OT into double coverage. I never saw him look to anyone else to see if they were open. Its "GREAT TO BE A MOUNTAINEER!"

I kinda liked this one, where he basically says that TN was just too fast and that's why we carved up their run defense: "It is funny, you guys did take advantage of our speed. We would over pursue and you guys would make us pay by going the opposite direction."

Re: What we learned
The coaching staff should not have let him go down the sidelines waving his arms. He should have been escorted out. Bush league. Wouldn't have happened with Satterfield.Volin wrote:Appsolutely wrote:Violin, your defensive player targeted on that play.
