Re: Possible transfer situations
WR seems to be a likeable guy who will provide depth, buy-in and answer when called upon. Very much like Tyler Page this past season.
Safety played with Pearson in HS. Will compete for a role here, which is what we need - more competition.
DL is a big guy with 3 years left. High reward/low risk which is 95% of people in the portal.
People should realize we aren't going to get 4 and 5 stars galore. I am pleased we are attempting to address some of our biggest needs.

Re: Possible transfer situations
On the DL guy, I don’t know that I categorize him as low risk. In truth, anyone with 3+ years of eligibility is risky in that you are on the hook for a scholarship until either they exhaust eligibility or they decide to leave. So if a player bust, you have wasted a scholarship.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 9:10 amWR seems to be a likeable guy who will provide depth, buy-in and answer when called upon. And with him coming from Miss State under Mike Leach, I’d bet he is a very solid route runner. He was on a team with a lot of WRs, a few of which are NFL draft picks. So the fact he got any playing time at all would make me think he’s pretty good.AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 8:14 amAn elusive slot receiver with blazing speed — which Scoobie Ford most definitely is — is always in high demand in our offense. Nobody denied there are issues. You just think the only way to fix them are to clean house. Others, some with actual knowledge, know that's not the case.
There are ways to express concern without being negative about everything.
But what do I know? I'm just a PR wing of the football team

But again, there are ways to express concern without being a negative Nancy about everything. It's not the expression of concern that makes some (again, not all) a "moron." It's the inability to understand there is more than one solution.

It's simple. He was offered a P5 job. He never even flirted with it, but the extension was to keep other offers away. The extension also lowered our buy out. The BOT was only on board with the extension if it lowered our buy out. I can't remember exact details or dollar amounts though.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 5:59 pmOkay, please, and I do mean please, explain Clark's extension.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 5:32 pmGuess you don't see that "some" word. Also, he fixed a lot of academic issues. A lot of stars didn't feel the need to be students. Clark wasn't about that. Other off field issues were also addressed (minor things).
He (and Watts) also made tremendous headway on balancing the classes. This season is doing even more work in that regard. Between Drink's inability to recruit and the super senior years, the classes were extremely out of whack. Successful G5 programs can't compete with unbalanced classes (although, that's a little different now with the transfer portal).
