Our four DB commits and signees are raking Washington over the coals on twitter right now. Getting nasty. Fans need to stay out of it but I love to see the fire. These guys coming in here ready to compete.firemoose wrote:Main Page has been updated to show the de-commit. As mtnjax stated not a surprise. I've had him and Canty at the top of my "liquid" list for a while. At least he didn't wait until the last minute to decom. With the four DB's we've picked up we might even take this chance to offer a different position. We'll see if any more offers go out.

Just looks like some good natured ribbing to me
But yes, I agree. sit back and watch and maybe have a good laugh, which i did, but don't get involved.

I have always told the kids I coach, you gotta make the decision that's right for you. Pray on it, talk about it, and go with what you feel is best. Guess he made the choice he felt was right.
But then again, Akron? lol.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Who knows? our DB class coming in is pretty stacked and there would be a lot of competition. maybe Akron has a better situation in terms of playing time
Re: Recruiting, 2014
Plus he can still get his taste of ASU in 2015 or 16 and again in Boone whatever the years are.....mtnjax wrote:Who knows? our DB class coming in is pretty stacked and there would be a lot of competition. maybe Akron has a better situation in terms of playing time

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Just wanted to give everyone an update. I'm still here and working. They don't call this the dead period for nothing. I have added several players to the Considering section of the main page. These are players that have said that they are receiving interest from App but no offers. I'll list them below but there are no player pages built for them since there is no confirmation of the interest, only mention of it (if you want to view some of Perez's video just go to signee JP Caruso's page and watch his highlights. He's the #7 that Caruso targets often). I have saved info for all these players and will add them should an offer go out plus I'm watching for any additional offers or interest.
Also ATH Hunter Renfrow (5′ 11″ 170) of Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, SC, who holds a full offer from App and a PWO offer from Clemson, has said those are his top two and he is planning on taking officials to each after the dead period. He will decide after those visits.
Come Jan 17th things are going to get CRAZY. We will have three official visit weekends left to try and add to and also keep members of this class as the offers will be flying and the poaching attempts will begin.
Recruits stating Interest from App:
ATH Caleb Perez (6′ 2″ 215) of Palm Beach Gardens High School in Palm Beach Gardens, FL
ATH Terrell Bonds (5′ 10″ 175) of Miami Central High School in Miami, FL
ATH Jerrell Antoine (5′ 11″ 160) of Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, FL
LB/TE Justice Smith (6′ 2″ 220) of East Gaston High School in Mt Holly, NC
DB Darian Mills (5′ 11″ 160) of Winter Haven Senior High School in Winter Haven, FL

Shouldn't Sam Blue, the LB from Raleigh's Millbrook High, be on this list as well? Are we no longer showing him interest?

Meadors seems to have built a pretty good relationship with some of last year's freshman class from his official visit. hopefully that helps in his decisionfiremoose wrote:LOL..I just sent a PM to John and Mike about the same thing. Re: Recruiting, 2014
They need to offer Sam Blue right now. He is the steal of the NC recruiting class for who ever gets him. He set the NC HS Football record for sacks this year. Had 19 sacks and 17 was old record. I think he scored 5 touchdowns off of those sacks. He was named All East Region, All Conference CAP8 and Defensive Player of the Year CAP8 this year. Won Awards for Football and high GPA from several sports clubs in Raleigh area. Great young man on and off the field. Great student. Willing to redshirt. He will be a true asset to where ever he goes. he has offers but wants ASU.
He is the type kid that you see play every Saturday for a big time program and wonder how did no one offer him. The type kid that walks on and by jr/sr year starts and becomes a captain of the team. I love kids like this no matter who they play for.
He is a kid that is not the fastest but will be the player to gets the fumble recovery in a crowd. Not the biggest but will knock a bigger O Lineman down and make the stop. A great leader on working hard and doing the right thing on and off the field.
With some of the problems we have had on the field and off this is a young man that will make you proud to represent ASU even if he never played that much.
I have known Sam since he was in 7th grade at West Millbrook MS. He had a great career at Millbrook turning that program back around and getting them deep into the playoffs this year. His parents are great people who would also be an asset to the ASU family.

If I were you, I'd direct your thoughts to Scot Sloan. Can't hurt.ASU@RDU wrote:They need to offer Sam Blue right now. He is the steal of the NC recruiting class for who ever gets him. our coaches did say we need to improve our pass rush. getting the NCHSAA season sack record holder can't hurt

You're welcome and thanks to 81 for showing you. Sorry I didn't answer right away. I've been working on some things.Apps03 wrote:Moose, I keep seeing you reference player pages and lists of commits, offers, etc. Where is that located? I can't seem to find it. Thanks for the work you do.
I did talk to a couple of people with the program and things are as quite as they seem. This dead period is even more dead than we're used to but that's mainly because we've already got a bunch of offers still out. In past years we would still be offering right now trying to catch up. Expect this last month to be hectic.
I expect RB and the Canty situation (tall WR) to be the primary focus once the period is over. It looks like, unless something drastic happens, than Canty's going to thank us for being the first to show interest and offer him by keeping us locked up until about 5 days before signing day (Vandy visit on Jan31st). My guess is, unless Eaton goes ahead and commits, that we will be putting a few more offers out to 6' 3"+ receivers hoping to keep Canty but planning not to. We'll also be working RB hard trying to get our second and also planning in case our first gets poached. And still planning for anyone else who might get poached also....and still looking for a NT....and...and............
I just LOVE FBS recruiting (HEY YOSEF....ANY LUCK FINDING A SMILIE OF A HEAD BANGING AGAINST A WALL TO PUT IN OUR SELECTION???? ONE BLOWING UP IN FRUSTRATION WOULD ALSO BE HELPFUL)

Not sure if the **DT GaSo commit, Darrius Sapp, fits Woody's system at NT but it's hard to look past his 6'1" 305lb frame.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
I'm sure the coaches are taking a look but they can't make new contact until the dead period ends. I watched his film a little while back and while he mostly played in the four down his team did run some 3-4 and he lined up at nose. He moves well for a 305lb guy and he commanded a double team most plays. I think he would fit in just fine at NT. Not sure about the academic side as we've never offered him so I didn't research him.moonshine wrote:Not sure if the **DT GaSo commit, Darrius Sapp, fits Woody's system at NT but it's hard to look past his 6'1" 305lb frame.
When the Monken thing happened I took a look at all the Ga Sou commits. There were a couple of guys I thought we could be interested in, Sapp being one. We got who we really wanted in Walton but we were after him before Army came calling. To be honest I didn't see a whole lot for us to go after. They have some good ATH's but they are mostly hybrid QB/RB's (big shock) and one TO RB. I know you recruit to your system but, at least on film, our linemen appear better. I know there is a month to go but I really didn't see many for us to look at. It's interesting to note that, of their 16 commits so far, not one has an offer or even interest from App, according to 24/7. The only crossover was Walton. We'll see once the 16th rolls around if we offer any of their commits.

Re: Recruiting, 2014
Any chance we're looking into Vad Lee from GaTech? He recently announced he is transferring as he does not want to run the triple-O. I know we are building depth at QB and should have a good race this spring/fall, but Lee could come in and take over from day one.
