I think I read where the Miami game set a record for 12,000 students in attendance. I thought the same article said we average about 10,000 students for football games.
I am trying to find the link but no luck yet.

I really didn't want to wade into this conversation, but I recall hearing that we average between 9,000 and 10,000 students per game. That is why we have so many seats set aside for students/general admission.NewApp wrote:I seriously doubt we have ever had as many as 10,000 students at a game....maybe once in a blue moon....and those leave early to hit the bars or parties.bcoach wrote:Ever?hapapp wrote:How many times have we sold 25,000 tickets excluding students? If on average 7-10,000 students attend games, I would say very few times.
Do you think there were 10,000 students when we used to pull in 30K plus?

I'll take your word for it, but I just have never noticed that percentage of college age looking kids at games.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:I think I read where the Miami game set a record for 12,000 students in attendance. It may include students and guests in the 10,000 average. I have used a guest ticket twice this year from my daughter and was in the student section with her. I look young for my age, but I would not pass for a traditional college-age student; I assure you.NewApp wrote:I'll take your word for it, but I just have never noticed that percentage of college age looking kids at games.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:I think I read where the Miami game set a record for 12,000 students in attendance. And both times there have been a good number of parents/alumni in the lower section it seemed.
For the Miami game they did not allow guest tickets to be purchased. Guest tickets are not guaranteed for any game.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Not every student leaves early
There are 14 sections in the west side stands. Seven of those sections are reserved for students and their guests. The north endzone bleachers are designated as student / band seating. Finally, section 114 on the east side is student seating. Neither the general public nor Yosef members may purchase a ticket for these sections. Additionally, these sections are not included in GA seating.
If all of those sections are filled with students and guests, you're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 12,000 - 13,000 people. The west side sections will hold close to 9,000. Since students don't have reserved seats, there's really no telling how many are crammed into that space other than by gate count. The athletic department has said that we usually have about 9,000 students which would include student guests.
The bottom line is that roughly half of our students are coming to football games. In any diverse group of 18,000 people, getting close to 50% participation for anything is great! Thanks, students, for being there to support our team. I hope you'll continue to be at KBS long after you graduate.
