I'd also like to add that the mercy point when the gas is let off seems to be a 35 point lead. I anticipate that our average margin of victory by season's end will be around 35 points. It would be more, but think GaSo and Troy keep it interesting.

Amazing how we seek out disrespect. Yes, I wish everyone got our name right but there are more things that bother me than mispronouncing the university's name or adding a "y" to the end of App. 95% of the people that say "Appy" are not doing it out of disrespect.

You know what South Alabama means to me? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Don't think it's seeking out disrespect here. In my opinion, mispronouncing Appalachian with a long a is kind of a regional thing so no intentional disrespect...more of a dialect thing. So that's an annoyance and fun to correct; however, the "y" added onto App is an attempt to belittle or disrespect in most cases. Just like the way many people on this board add the "y" to Ark to say "Arky State," it's not meant to be flattering. The head coach of one of our conference schools, or any head coach for that matter should know better. Again, just my opinion.

Anderson and StAyte do not respect App. They beat the socks off of us in Boone last time we played them.

Like what I've seen from the team.

Offense, we have too many weapons to double even just one guy. I don't think anyone keeps us under 30 all season. They just press the pedal to the metal, not really much need for any cute trick plays.

On defense, we do have the bend, not break mentality and make teams play perfect for long stretches. However, I've noticed when we get a 3 TD lead, that is when they pin their ears back and really get after it. It's an amazing killer instinct. They appear to not care as much about the big play at that point and just try to annihilate the opposition. That's the point where I really start enjoying the game.

Special teams, we've scored 4 times this year in 3 games, however, preventing points with a FG block is just as good as a score, in my opinion. Also blocked punts and big returns that lead to easy scores. You could argue that special teams is responsible for or contributed to 45 points this season...maybe more, but that's what I came up with.
Don’t forget the on-sides kick at Penn State.
