Testament to our team..... We can sleep walk and play with little effort and still beat an average team.

Re: Late start
Kind of hard to say that when they dig us into a 14pt deficit. Whole game plan went out the window after that. We are just a better all around team and it was only a matter of time before UAB's gimmicks wouldn't help them. We cant have 14pt deficits to better teams, we will be in big trouble when we can't run our balanced offense.

Re: Late start
It was a really bad start for the D. I’m giving them the win for 3 things, They only gave up 17 points, the turnovers and the score. Defensive scores are what made this year.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 1:50 amKind of hard to say that when they dig us into a 14pt deficit. Whole game plan went out the window after that. I’ll be honest, I love games like this one. Same with Ga State this year, Stink a few years ago, even the bowl game last year with MTSU. Spot the other team some easy, free points; get them feeling good about themselves, then dominate for the rest of the game.

Re: Late start
One of the dumbest comments made is- “we would have lost to a better team”. What the heck? Anyone ever go back and read threads that start out so negative and then begin to change and evolve as the game turns? All of a sudden our team has become undisciplined, we have a “players coach”, we will lose to better teams (that kind of happens a lot of times by the way). Unreal how many negative folks comment on this board. Going into bowl season there were 7 (yes 7) FBS level schools with a shot at 13 wins- we are one of them. Take this offense and add back in Sutton and Peoples. Lord have mercy son.

Re: Late start
Not sure. Only the person that fumbled on 4th down can advance the ball. Not about a bad snap as no one ever had possession.

Re: Late start
I think people are really selling UAB short. This team was 6-1 before this QB went down and their offense suffered without him. They have one of the best run defenses in the country and we rushed for over 260 yards. Yes, we struggled with consistency on offense and we didn't dominate the line of scrimmage but this was a much better team than most perceived based on their defeat in CUSA title game. According to the announcers last night, they will almost of their key players back next year. They should contend again for the CUSA title.

Are you saying ZT never had possession?
Pretty sure he did and if what you say is correct then that shouldn’t have counted. Looked great on TV though

It was a muffed snap, not a fumble.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 12:30 pmLongrifle28 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 12:24 pmNot sure. Only the person that fumbled on 4th down can advance the ball. Not about a bad snap as no one ever had possession.

Re: Late start
My big takeaway was that UAB recruits for size. They had some absolute monsters on their team, bigger than they appeared on the film I watched. Mix that with those incredibly fast athletes we knew they had (ie. #13) they have have a nice blend. The unique problem App presents is the size/strength mixture, and it always wins out. I do feel that our S&C isn't quite to the same level it has been.... Wondering how Clark/DG address that for next season. I know of one guy that I'd love to see...hapapp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 12:29 pmI think people are really selling UAB short. Re: Late start
I’m glad we fumbled the ball on 4th and 1. UABs interior DL would be hard to push back in that situation. Glad Evans was aware of what was going on.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 12:42 pmMy big takeaway was that UAB recruits for size. Re: Late start
I was wondering what Riley was thinking everytime we tried to run it up the gut on short yardage
