We will never know but what we do know is what Drink did and perhaps, perhaps that was the first step to where we are today.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 1:18 pmJim McElwain? You don't honestly think he would have stayed any longer than Drink do you? He also would have ridden that Lamborghini with keys in hand to the first P5 that came calling...Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 12:27 pmStrategically ,Drink looks like a bad hire , a bad decision.Had we hired Ivey , or Shawn at that time,{or someone else like McElwain ,who would have stayed} perhaps the momentum would have carried us to a better place today. We will never know , but DG owns this and unless he is headed to WVa he has to make it right.I don't know what that involves but he has to figure it out.

We've watched App shock P5 teams, pull together winning seasons, bring home bowl trophies and Sun Belt Championships. We are BEYOND blessed to have witnessed App's incredible run of success moving to FBS.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 9:09 amI threw out the question before the season started asking what would happen if, god forbid we went 8-4. There was a consensus that many would absolutely melt down. I thought 8-4 might be the worst case scenario but now 6-6 could be the reality. To completely abandon the program as some seem to indicate is insane. Most every normal program has a dip every now and then.
And then the unthinkable happened: App football starts the season on the highest heights, only to watch it crash spectacularly.
As App fans, we just aren't used to this. And it hurts.
But the sun will shine tomorrow and God will still be on His throne. And App will see better days.
For those who graduated from App: be loyal. You may be upset at the coaches or the players or whatever. But you're still an App grad. Give things a chance to turn around. Dance with the one that brung ya.

Agree, Bootsy. It’s been a tale of two seasons- a short, exciting one, and a long disappointing one. While we are definitely in need of some off season changes, there is no need to burn it to the ground. Besides the meltdown vs JMU and the abomination at Texas State, we’ve just lost close, disappointing games to conference foes- it happens. Not “accepting” losses, just reality.Bootsy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 7:40 pmWe've watched App shock P5 teams, pull together winning seasons, bring home bowl trophies and Sun Belt Championships. Let’s let SC attempt to right the ship, and hope we field a talented, young, prepared team in 2023. Meanwhile, let’s win our last two winnable games and start a new bowl streak, and get Mo back on our side.
