They did indeed. From what I've heard, Garcia has had a super tough time with the mental aspect of the game so it'll be very interesting to see how that game plays out.

Yep, Auburn gobbled up one if not their best LB too.

Burger just enough mobility to avoid getting knocked around? Coastal winning the conference but losing to us.BayouApp wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 12:48 pmFairly positive season preview for us:

I think people will be pleasantly surprised how mobile he really is. (we might need it in the beginning til the O-line gets figured out) Not sure if they really did their research on this preview.ASU84 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 1:45 pmBurger just enough mobility to avoid getting knocked around? Just wondering why all the predictions for a stellar 2024 season? Expecting our recruiting class from this year to be paying off?appstate77 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 2:31 pmWith the expectations of our fan base, 6-6 would be dangerous for Shawn's future here, UNLESS, we are looking toward the super team we are supposed to have in '24.

2024 is generally pointed to because that it the year that Clark’s first full high school recruiting class will be well represented on the field. I don’t think that this year’s class or last years class are largely equated in that statement. There could be a few guys that step up quicker than others. We may even have a true Freshman getting significant playing time and may be starting at a position.asumba95 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 7:43 amJust wondering why all the predictions for a stellar 2024 season? Because we're hoping that last year was a fluke and not a trend.

Re: Teams who are poised to bounce back - CBS
Speaking only of the offense...
While the QB position is the most important position in the sport, it's never been an extremely demanding one since the jump to FBS. Have had some great talent at QB over the years, but the run game has been the bread and butter. Returning 3 of the 5 lineman positions, with still a nice committee of RBs I think will help keep what was working, still working. Will still need a reliable QB to sling it when needed or called upon, but whoever lands the starting role will have a nice group of WRs and TEs as options. I think a slightly more mobile QB opens the run game a bit more as well. I feel the offense should be good enough to win some games, but not at the level of averaging 35-40 points a game.
Biggest thing will be play calling in my opinion. Felt like almost every game last year we were all wondering, what in the world was that when it came to the run plays on downs 1, 2, and 3 similar to the Les Miles at LSU days. Also the 4th down play calling was suspect at times. Losing an experienced QB is always tough for any team, but I think offensively things should be ok this year.

I have not went back to review all the 3rd and 4th down short yardage plays... it seems we became predictable....or my memory is slanted to remember the ones we did not gain the yards needed

No you're correct, we called jumbo packages often and stubbornly down the stretch.
