The 8th commit is OL/DL Tobias Edge-Campbell (6' 2" 275) of Hoke County High School in Raeford, NC. I will have a player page up shortly. Based on his twitter account I had him in my Considering App section already. He is showing to have additional offers from Florida A & M, Furman, and NC A&T.

As a side note his teammate RB/LB Jamaal Darden (5' 11" 190) was also visiting today. He is also listed in the Considering App section based from his twitter. From what he's saying today if we offered he would commit. Guess we'll see.

Player page now up for Edge-Campbell. No video yet but I'll post some as soon as I find some. I copied the info below from the Charlotte SPARQ All-Combine Team page and for the last line in the info. The combine was held on March 28th and more than 1,400 players attended. His shuttle time was lower and his SPARQ number was higher than ESPN had him in their testing results section.

As a side note (for those who don't know) SPARQ is a Nike training acronym that stands for: Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness.

OL: Tobias Edge-Campbell, 6-2, 277, Raeford (N.C.) Hoke County
Results: 5.41 40, 4.72 Shuttle, 36.0' PB, 23.9" VJ, 69.27 SPARQ
Breakdown: Big-time performance earned him an invite to the next day's Nike Football Training Camp.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have put up a player page with video for LB Mikal Smith (6′ 2″ 205) of Palmetto High School in Miami, FL. He has been listed in the Unconfirmed section for about a month but some video finally popped up. The page is lacking in stats but at least there is video. I'll update as more comes up.

Not sure if this really matters as ASU is likely not to lock him up anyway... but I read on ESPN that the U of Miami verbal commit Alin Edouard (App has also offered him) is likely going to de-commit from Miami.

It went on to say that he plans to visit other schools and that Tennessee, Louisville, Arizona, Cincinnati and Marshall have been pursuing him the most aggressively. Arizona, Cincinnati and Tennessee are the three teams among those hot on Edouard's trail which currently do not possess a verbal commitment from another quarterback. The fact those teams are still searching for a signal caller should make each more enticing for Edouard. Edouard also has offers from Ole Miss and USF.

This is the main reason I built player pages for all these offers from early on. We all know that most were "shoot for the stars" players that we likely had no shot at but you never know what's going to happen once a kid gets to a school and sees what is going on and where they truly stand in the pecking order. Will we get Edouard? Not very likely but there are over 50 "Elsewhere" players now, most highly rated kids, that are finding the same things out. All it takes is a couple to remember that App offered early and that they have a much better shot at playing here than a lot of the other offered schools. Just the chance of picking up one or two of these kids is worth throwing out the kind of offers we were. I know some didn't want to read about these players but there was a reason behind the madness. Some might call it wishful thinking. I prefer to think of it as "Just In Case"

From twitter and internet reports I've added WR Marquavious “Quay” Johnson (5′ 10″ 170) of Knightdale High School in Knightdale, NC to the Reported offers section of the master list and put up a player page with video highlights for him. He is showing additional reported offers from UNCC, ECU, and ODU.

Just wanted to let everyone know that tonight I decided to streamline the Main page somewhat. As you know I've had two sections for "offers" (Reported and Unconfirmed), doing it that way since many times the only notice of a offer was coming from a twitter post or just one site and, there for a while, we seemed to be throwing them out like pasta against a wall. I usually waited until at least two sites showed an offer before moving to the Reported section. But since we now have 61 offers committed elsewhere and the offers going out now are more in line with the type of recruits we should expect to compete for I just decided to combine it all into the Reported section. I also put a space between each position so it's easier to tell exactly what type and how many positions we are going for. Hope this makes the browsing a little easier for you.

As we found out last season, offers from major colleges don't mean that the prospects may lack character. That can't be measured in films nor statistics. i.e. in the end we may be glad we didn't sign certain kids.

Would be willing to take a chance with a 5 star every now and then.

Seems like we need Linemen, linemen, linemen....
and some good running backs....
just a perception.

We took a chance on the guy a few years ago who had a history of marijuana use and he ended up getting busted his junior year. I can't recall his name, but I'm sure many on here recall.

Last night I added, per twitter posts, ATH/QB/DB Hunter Renfrow (5′ 11″ 170) of Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, SC to the main page and placed a player page for him with some limited video highlights. You have to watch each video to see some plays from him. He is a 2 sport player (football and baseball) but the posts didn't say what the offer was for. Thanks to John at 247 for talking to him and confirming the offer was for football. As you will see from the videos he won the 2012 Pee Dee and Grand Strand POTY award. He rushed for 1,418 yards and passed for 560 running a TO offense. He shows additional offers from Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian so far.

I see DB, WR, or RB in his future. Maybe he should look at baseball here too

Yep...all of which he has done. I didn't put it in but he also caught a couple of passes last year too. I know it's not a lot but it is the TO. He also had some int's on D. He's got some speed at 4.55 and he moves pretty well, from the little video I could find. Hopefully the hudl highlights become available to the public soon. Might give us a little better picture. Also agree on the baseball. From whit I've read he's a pretty good baseball player.

OK Everybody....Interesting twitter post came up an hour or so ago about a possible commit but I haven't been able to back it up (in fact everything linked to it has been deleted) so I don't want to put it up just yet. You guys know I don't put tease posts up and I never post anything without backup. I have a copy of the tweet and I will post it one way or the other. If the post is correct then we'll know soon.

Yep. I really didn't want to post anything. I will explain after we know what is going on and I will show everyone what I found and what I didn't.
