Well, if we don’t have the financial ability to fire a coach, then I seriously doubt we have the financial ability to compete in today’s game.
Welcome to our future. We have been doing it (relatively) underfunded for decades now. But NIL and the portal have changed the game completely and we do not currently have the ability to keep up. This is a reality a lot here do not want to admit to. It doesn't make it any less real. There are big boy programs that are dealing with the same issues, it's not just us mid-majors.

The best thing that can happen to us long-term is for a new modern version of 1-AA to come about and we can win there. And that is a matter of when, not if, it happens. The move to FBS was never about being at the top of the ladder, it was about making sure we end up at the second rung instead of the third.
How many of the other eleven Sun Belt members have significant financial advantages over us?

Every last one of them, including old foes Western Carolina, Elon, and Emory & Henry. Hell, even Birmingham Southern is better off than us.

If that's the case then the donation threshold for season tickets its far far too low. If you sell out you didn't charge enough. If that's the case then the finances of the entire athletics department have been so mismanaged that I would question everyone in a leadership position.

This is clearly a joke, especially since Birmingham Southern had to close the college last year due to lack of funds.

Thanks for understanding my hyperbole.
