I hope we all agree that App State put together a good game day experience for our opening game. Even with the gloomy weather, the fans seemed pumped. I tailgated at the Library parking lot. I arrived at 2pm and had plenty of spaces to choose from, but by 4pm the parking deck was full to the extent that the attendants were making the few tailgaters that occupied two spaces to give up that extra space to accommodate the late arrivals. Walking the town and campus the tailgating was going strong, even in the sporatic drizzle. We entered the KBS around 5pm to watch the BoD march in. I tell ya, I think that they looked bigger than last year, boy, did they show "high energy." The stadium looked pretty empty initially, but as we got closer to kick-off the fans started to pour in. The bank and the endzone bleachers filled up with students. I noticed that the cheerleaders included a lot more men this year. That's great! After each touchdown, the guys carried the APP STATE flags across the endzones with good speed and strength. The dancing group looked bigger too. From this narrative, you can tell I had a great time!
