In today’s college football, is there any reason to care about balance among classes?
If the roster was all juniors and seniors, would the turnover numbers in three years be drastically different vs. this balance.

But Drink had to drive the Ferrari and Clark had to drive the BMW. Loggsins can take the Geo Tracker and a wad of cash and buy whatever he wants (if he has the cash)ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:08 pmSatterfield left drink a Ferrari. Drink left Clark a BMW. We can’t buy a team.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:35 amBut Drink had to drive the Ferrari and Clark had to drive the BMW. When it comes to this analogy our fans have the eyes of my children, but also their wallets when shopping for a car.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:35 amBut Drink had to drive the Ferrari and Clark had to drive the BMW. We should probably have looked for some full size 4 wheel drive trucks. I think we got a little too enamored with sports cars.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 2:32 pmWhen it comes to this analogy our fans have the eyes of my children, but also their wallets when shopping for a car.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:35 amBut Drink had to drive the Ferrari and Clark had to drive the BMW. No, we can’t. But the FBS world has change so much, straight comparisons don’t work any more. No one will ever be handed a Ferrari again. They might get the motor or the tires, but never a complete hotrod. Instead, they’ll be handed some parts and have to add their own to see what they can build.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 1:17 pmWe can’t buy a team.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 11:35 amBut Drink had to drive the Ferrari and Clark had to drive the BMW. Agreed, Clark was the last head coach that will ever be dealt a strong hand.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 7:55 amNo, we can’t. There were some really good players on those teams from 2017-2019. That was a great run but it spoiled this fanbase and created some lofty expectations for consistency.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:24 amThe constant Ferrari and Lamborghini references to those teams get a bit overused in my opinion. We had a really good roster but we had to hold on against and average UNC team and also against a bad USC squad who also nearly caught the game winner at the back of the end zone. Not to say we weren’t legit top 25 but some seem to think we had some P4 level team.
Indeed. They have to make it seem worse than it is so people are encouraged to donate. Don’t want complacency among donors.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:09 amWe aren’t as broke as some would like you to believe. There’s always more to do in the NIL world and I think DG could do more, but we are spending right now. Largely because we have to. The staff is being smart about who they spend the money on.
Those were the most talented teams in our history. Being able to compete with bottom half P5 teams is pretty strong evidence in that regard.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:24 amThe constant Ferrari and Lamborghini references to those teams get a bit overused in my opinion. We had a great run from 1985-2019 with all but two classes winning a conference title.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:31 amThere were some really good players on those teams from 2017-2019. It is interesting how it is now somehow the fanbase’s fault for having expectations the coaches told us to have. “Come here to win championships.” “2024 is the year”.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 10:06 amWe had a great run from 1985-2019 with all but two classes winning a conference title.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 9:31 amThere were some really good players on those teams from 2017-2019. Not winning a conference title in five years is lofty expectations… my goodness that narrative is so tired.
