Looks like ATH Walden Davis (5′ 11″ 185) of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, GA picked up his offer from App today. He's already committed to Ga. St. We'll see if there is any interest but given he's from Atlanta it's going to be a hard pull.

Been pleasantly surprised at how much action we have had with Tennessee recruits this year.
Not normal.

I expected or recruiting net to be cast wider with the move up to FBS. I can see us dipping into Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas more as we start to play games in the Sun Belt. WR already looking to get Eaton out of Mississippi

I am very interested to watch this as well. Not a very deep talent pool in Tennessee, but of course you take players wherever you can find them.

Ideally, I'd think our primary recruiting base would be VA, NC, SC, GA and FL, with complementary efforts in Tennessee and the Gulf Coast states you mentioned. Would be awesome to get into Texas, of course.

It looks to me like we don't look at VA but I may just not be very well informed. If memory serves me we used to work Hargrave.

It does look that way, and I don't really understand it. Especially with the home-and-home vs. ODU coming up. Should be an opportunity to recruit in the Tidewater region.

The Tidewater will be worked more next year. The home and home with ODU wasn't announced until Nov 14th. We've only offered 10 more since that date out of 197 offers so we were pretty well along when the series was decided. We expanded south and west this year. I expect to see us pushing north some for the 2015 class and beyond. With all the VA schools and the eastern NC schools working the Tidewater area already it looks like the staff decided to push into the Belt area first. We did offer three from Maryland so someone was in the area but I would think with us getting a game right in the middle of the print that things will change some this upcoming year.

Didn't Hargrave drop football? Or was it Fork Union?

I just looked on their web page and it says they play on the high school level. I think they dropped the post grad level football but still have PG basketball.
Fork Union still has PG football

Thanks. I thought I had read something about Hargrave and football. The PG program was what drew most of the recruiters to Hargrave and the place where many of the BCS programs "placed" recruits that did not qualify.

YES!!! Sorry guys but very slow internet tonight. But as you've seen WR Matthew Eaton (6′ 4″ 195) of Pascagoula High School in Pascagoula, MS has committed to App State tonight. We have the tall WR we've been pushing for all season. I will move him to the committed section in a few minutes. Another great pickup for the staff. Congrats to them for all their hard work.

Still got a little work to do. But we've even got Walton tweeting about App tonight. Hopefully we can hang on to him and all the rest for the next 9 days and finish this thing STRONG!!!!

That's great because two Illinois coaches went to talk with Walton yesterday.

I can't believe we snagged Eaton. I thought he was a Red Wolf for sure.

I saw Eaton when he visited App. I thought he looked taller than 6'4". I told everyone in my family we needed to make him a priority. This is really good news.

Great pickup. Watching his highlights, he isn't going to be as fast as Quick, but has good vertical and catches with his hands in the air well. My favorite part about the kid is the way he finishes blocks, never stops and drives guys to the ground.
