I said it was looking like we needed to move on but i also said let SC finish his contract. YOu can tell how much it bothered him that many had given up on him and the staff. I seriously believe many honestly thought 8-4 was in the cards..... It's been an impressive last 3rd of the season for sure. Im happy for SC, the staff and the team....

Coach Clark and his staff have done a great job turning this around during the season. The improvements on defense, playing with confidence, we seem more mentally and physically into the games. The wrinkles on offense, the play calls, and the young players growing up have all been impressive.

Keep it going coach. Two more games. Lots to play for.

It should have bothered him. It shows he cares, which we all knew he did, but we as alumni and fans also care and want the best for our school. Some of the heat was warranted and it was a catalyst for the changes needed to get us to where we are today. I am grateful.

It is the life of a coach to have critics...and it is okay for fans to be critics, however, being an A-hole in what and how some comments are made ....have gone over the line... whether Coach Clark or any other coach. Keyboard Warriors have cyber-courage. Over 90% probably would not make the comments they make to a coaches face. They are cowards. ...just my opinion

This turn around is great. He and his staff get a lot of credit. But it should have bothered him. 6-6 last year was terrible, particularly with two FCS wins. Starting this season 3-4 was bad. Things have turned around, I think we ALL wanted that. But the criticism was warranted. As is the credit he gets now.

Because it happened. That under performance wasn't made up. This turn around isn't made up either. I give him credit for the turn around, and blamed him for bad losses. I don't think that's complicated or unfair.

My kids get flack because I'm in law enforcement...my kids have had to fend off thugs kids because of the violent crime teams I used to be on. It happens. I hate it for the kids but such is life.

I’m guessing Cignetti and Sumrall or Sumrall and Cignetti will finish 1-2 in the Coach of the Year voting. But from my Black and Gold viewpoint, no one was done a better job of coaching this season than Shawn Clark.

Although I am stoked about how we progressed during the season, I am not seeing Coach Clark as coach of the year. The team has 4 losses. If there was a Most Improved During The Year...it's a landslide victory for Coach Clark and Co.!!

Cignetti is hands down coach of the year. I mean, I hate JMU with a passion....but it's hard to argue what he's done. Sumrall gets second if they beat us...Clark gets second if we beat Troy.

If we beat Troy then I absolutely agree Shawn should tie with Cignetti for COY. If we lose then I would think he is 2nd or 3rd. What we have done is incredible and that tweet by Everts calling it "solid" felt like such an insult. Shawn is a class act because I would call her out on it if we win the SBC title and I doubt he will.

They had to hire security at one point. People were making comments beyond questioning play calling and details of the game to making comments about his family. Way past the line.

It’s pathetic. We are all diehard fans on this board, but not to that extreme. Sure, say some stupid shit on a board, but when you’re going after a man and his family, you aren’t a true fan. Would love for those people to go into a room with Clark for about 5 minutes.
