Style points count when trying to get into a bowl you have a slim chance at. Drink surly knows this so apparently did not think it was possible to get to the Cotton, despite what he said at the post game ceremony. We needed to destroy these guys while Cincinnati barely won by luck.

I have a great view of the gates from my seats, the people leaving were definitely minimal. Big kudos to everyone who came and were loud.

We completely dominated this game and yet it was an ugly win. I don't care, non playoff bowl games and polls are beauty contests anyway, but that is what it is.

The committee is supposed to watch the games, if they watch our game, they see we dominated that game and ULL had to work hard in the second half just to make it look respectable.

Please quit trying to be the voice of reasonMrCraig wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 5:12 pmGet a grip dude. You act like ULL sucks. They are a very good, very talented, very well coached team. They fought until the very end, but didn’t have enough because App is better. Winning by 100 wasn’t going to change anything, and we aren’t going to the Belk Bowl.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 3:54 pmDude... seriously get over the self-righteousness. You know as well as the rest of us we had to blow these guys out. We were and then just gave up. If you're ok with giving up then so be it. That 2nd half was horrid.... I don't care how you try to spin it. People are all entitled to their opinions but as soon as someone criticizes on here the PC police are to the rescue. When the iron is hot...you strike. The iron won't stay hot forever. We had a chance to get back in the conversation and blew it like a cheap hooker. Hopefully the Belk Bowl plays out. Peace.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 3:44 pmGod forbid this team ever fails to win 10 games. This board will implode.
I have no idea if you’ve ever coached before, but it can be hard to hold a lead in the second half. The losing team goes into the locker room knowing what they need to fix. The winning team goes to the lockers knowing they just have to keep it up. If the winning team can’t adjust to the losing team in the second half, it can lead to a pretty close game. I strongly believe that’s exactly what happened here.
Bottom line: We. Won. Again.
I can’t imagine how miserable some of y’all must be when you aren’t happy after we just won our friggin’ fourth conference championship.
you're ruining this thread...lol

Heard on ESPN that our 12 wins are the most by a FBS school from NC. Haven't fact checked it but it's pretty cool achievement!

I was in the student section and even though it was only announced at 18000, the student section was full, loud, and stayed the entire game and also most went on the field for the ceremony

Students have given their ALL the entire year!
Great way to cap it off. Unsure if I can make the bowl game but I plan to donate a couple students tickets this year’s bowl game again.

Yep, ULL is a really good team. And we beat them two times this season. This was a really good win!Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 8:41 pmThere will always be whiners and always those who want more.

Why in gods name did Drink not go for the jugular near the end of the first half? We had scored on 5 straight possessions and we went ultra conservative. Letting them kick that FG changed the entire complexion of the game.

Re: SB championship Game Thread
They do and we were certainly a better team. It is hard to win twice. With that said, we all agreed prior to the game we needed style points and ULL fought hard to come back and made it a real game late. We made a statement in the first half but did not play that way for four quarters. To surpass multiple teams ahead of us a statement needed to be made. We certainly won't drop because of what you two said but we would not pass Memphis with what we did. That just won't happen.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 7:15 pmAgree. Memphis winning means no chance ever to pass them. None. Boise State winning meant no chance. No matter what we did, everyone else accomplished what they needed. Salute to our great team for this great, great season!

We all agreed? Who is this we you speak of? Is we meant to somehow say you are a member of the CFP Committee? Is we, a bunch of folks on a message board that have no bearing on the process? The games are played and now it will come down to the collective body of work for Memphis, Boise, and App.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 10:28 pmThey do and we were certainly a better team. Heard Zac was furious over being selected only 3rd team All conference and he definitely took it out on ULL. Thanks for playing, and thanks for doubting Zac!

Re: SB championship Game Thread
I am pretty sure when a couple of us said it all the replies agreed we needed to win and show style points. We had a slow start against Texas State and dropped that week. When you play a weak schedule everyone knows you have to win big.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 11:04 pmWe all agreed? Who is this we you speak of? Do you seriously think we have a shot at the NY6? If you go back and look at who was picked since 2014 it has been the AAC Champ, undefeated MAC, or Boise State (1 loss). SBC has never been picked and without any wins over a ranked team there is no way the committee does not take Memphis. The committee takes the AAC Champion unless someone else is undefeated.

Re: SB championship Game Thread
In reality I think we might just move up one spot to 20 and overtake Cincy since they lost. I really can't see us moving up any further unless they decide we're a better team than Boise State...which I would think we could make the case that beating a 10-1 Louisiana team for the SB Conference title was a harder job/more quality win than a dismantling of a 5-loss Hawai'i team. (How did Hawai'i play 14 games already? Did their season start earlier or something?)AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 10:28 pmThey do and we were certainly a better team. It is hard to win twice.
