I’ll be in attendance with all four members of our family which is a rare occasion these days and if we win, I promise I won’t care about the color of tshirts.
November 2005 keeps getting further in the rear view window as being the last time I attended a game in Boone. I really hope this Toledo series doesn't get blown up as us coming to the Glass Bowl might be my best chance to see us home or away since the 2007 title game.
We all keep hearing about importance of playing complimentary football. That 2007 natty game against Delaware was a perfect example of that. Our defense must have harrassed or sacked Flaco 6 or 7 times and Armanti and KR had their way. One of my favorite games ever to attend in person.
Agreed. My buddy and I sat in the Delaware section. Had an older couple next to us asking “where is Boone,NC” and just giving us crap. This was all before the game started and ended very quickly. I went to the 06 championship game as it was my freshman year so I’ll never forget that, but something about the 07 one was magical. Yes it was a 3 peat, but I think from having the high of beating Michigan to the ups and downs of the season and being so close to being out first round to JMU, to the Armanti Edwards show against Richmond, it just captivated how great that team was.
Nothing good has ever come from Delaware.

Seems like I may be the only guy on here who has no idea who this guy is. And I am not a boomer.
I don’t know either but he must be a really bad man.
He isn’t a bd person. He’s a good guy who is passionate about App. His tactics on using social media are borderline cyber bullying.

I do not know the this person..in today's world "cyber bullying" has the same or worse effect than "live" bullying from back in the day. IMHO, that is a bad person...I get you said "borderline"..if this is the case, the person on the other end of the post may mentally receive that as bullying...

Well, it's official.

Gold out.

Riley did it again. 1 kid somehow convincing a whole Athletic department.
Don't know if it was just him as there were others.

As passionate as he is, he acts on every impulsive idea, doesn't listen to others and is convinced everyone against him are just boomers who want the same uniforms every game. He's also convinced Doug Gillin is a stick in the mud and won't bring back any past logos because "it's detrimental to the App State brand" because Doug wouldn't do the 35,851st idea he came up with.

I know this is gonna get back to him so I hope instead of coming up with 1,000 more ideas that he narrows his focus and let's ideas breath. He can be tiresome.
My issue isn’t his zeal, it’s his sense of fashion. This man dresses like a vagabond on gameday and pushes the most hideous uni and branding ideas.

Love the passion, hate the taste.
After looking him up on X....I can say he and I wouldn't be friends based on political ideology. I see where he gets his online bullying from.

You choose your friends based on their politics? If not for social media, you wouldn’t even know it, and it wouldn’t be likely to matter either way.

This is why I am heavily in favor of someone hacking TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, BlueSky, et. al. And ransomwaring them into bankruptcy. They have destroyed the fabric of human nature which is direct human to human communications.

Yes... I do select my friends based on how compatible they are with my values and ideals. I have many acquaintances that I associate with who are opposite of my views both politically and religiously....but they are not friends. Anyone opposed to law enforcement probably isn't going to want to associate with me anyway. I put my ideals out there for all to see. I am who I am and they are who they are. We all gravitate and associate with those of a like mind. It's a natural thing. I didn't say I hated him or wished him ill-will....simply said I wouldn't be friends with him.

On reflection, my previous post about Riley was mean spirited and messed up on my part, and my expression of frustrations was done in a completely wrong way.

I'm guessing we'll wear black next week anyway since we don't match color schemes with the fans (or at least the ones that are going to participate)

Not to point fingers because I think posts like this are totally consistent with Riley's constant griping about his own preferences, but this fanbase has too many gatekeepers and fanship police. App has unparalleled culture, but the downside is you have loads of extremely passionate people who have very specific concepts of what those traditions are, and who feel compelled to demand compliance with their specific iteration, even down to the color shirt another man chooses to wear to the game. Some older people act like "Roll Neers" is an afront to their religion.

I'm not wearing yellow because I know what color shirts I like to wear and I don't want to spend $50-100 on a single use shirt. All y'all who want to wear yellow, have at it. I think it's a cool idea. Whatever. Go Apps and Roll Neers.

The gold out is going to fail, especially if it’s cold. We don’t even do Black Saturday well if we’re being honest here.

Not condemning you, but it is an afront to my Appalachian State religion. Neers isn't a word and just sounds stupid and we stole the Roll from the Tide. Just MY opinion and I know not everyone will agree with it.

You are so hyper fixated on bashing “older people” you are completely missing the point of what makes traditions traditions. We literally have a Black Saturday which is our only sustaining “color day”. For decades it’s always been just know App wears black on Saturdays. But some blow hard on social media has decided that’s not cool anymore so the entire program is supposed to do an about face to bend to his whims? He, just like you are entitled to your options, but the endless raging against the machine gets tiresome. Virginia Tech has always run out to enter sandman. And with each passing year that song gets older and older. Should they change it because some 20 year old has decided the latest Taylor Swift song is popular with this generation of kids? It’s laughable to even think that. Why? Because Enter Sanan is their tradition. If the players for some reason want to wear gold, that’s whatever, but to suggest fans, many who’ve been fans for decades should bust out their yellowest shirt because that’s what the kids demand is ridiculous. And as an aside roll neers is terrible
