Both my son and I saw that on the play as well. Sadly, we weren't surprised that it wasn't called.

Thanks for the fresh dose of perspective on a Monday morning, and I'm sorry for the loss of your granddad. While we'd all love to win every game, I'll take a crisp Fall Saturday in Boone with my family and APP family anytime. Wins and losses, highs and lows will come and go, and we will have our time back on top; but we have something very special here, even now. And as the saying goes, "If you're lucky enough to be a mountaineer, you're lucky enough."

GO APP!!!
FYI, I'm stealing that quote for future use. I can't promise I'll always give appropriate credit!
It's worked as my sig for(just about) ever :D Time with the App family is cherished time regardless of the outcome of the game. I am blessed beyond measure that our grandson is close enough to go with us to games and that he'll grow up in the App family. Shoot, the kid's already joined Yosef, and he's not quite 6 months old. I can't imagine a better day than App football, tailgating with family and friends, and watching my grandson rocking his black and gold duds. It's all good.

... and a spry one at that!

Hope your dad's seeing more smiles as the days go by. He's blessed to have a son like you (and a daughter-in-law kind enough to give up a day at The Rock).

I will always have that wonderful memory of my dad choosing to be with me that day. Such sadness and joy is what makes us human.

My grandfather was a trainer with UTC for 30+ years and has a plaque in his honor in the stadium. Maybe my dad wanted to be with the memories of his dad. Treasure the great memories.

It must be dusty in here.
Memories like that are what makes life worth living.
Now if there wasn't that jerk sitting in front of you guys there it'd be a perfect day!!

Had a blast with you guys at the game.... Hopefully we can continue having our "core" in our section for years to come... Good years... and bad years...

Thanks! But, I'm the one that's blessed to have him as a father.

He is doing well, which has really impressed me. And, my mom is a rock and is holding strong for him.
