Some people on here cannot handle anyone pointing out anything negative. I've taken to calling them the Kevin Bacons.
Many point out negatives without going overboard, buffalo isn't one of them.

He overreacted, posted cute pictures, threw poo all over the place and now doesn't have the mettle to admit he was wrong. Instead tries to spin prior posts as a joke. You starting the "blowing things out of proportion" for the record.

I honestly hope you're more successful as selling homes than the BS you're serving up today because I'm not buying it.

Way to down play it. Calling for a coaches head after 16 games, especially considering the circumstances, isn't "negative" -- it's irrational and idiotic not to mention it shows how many of you come up here to spew nonsense out of your arse. I'm fine with constructive criticism but all you guys did was unnecessarily bash the guy

I don't agree with a lot of what you post but I do agree that this board is too quick to try flame out dissenting posts. Many on here take this stuff way too seriously. App football is only a small part of why I love Appalachian State. Don't get me wrong I love App football, I put my money where my mouth is and I am a season ticket holder for many years. But, I don't live and die by it so when you (or anyone else) post something negative I usually try to see if I can find some level of agreement or at least understanding. Sometimes I can see the argument (like clock management even though we did score) and sometimes I can't find anything I agree with. At the end of the day I can ignore what I don't agree with. I don't have to challenge your intelligence because we disagree.

There are a lot of people inhabiting the Internet who lack the ability to just say, "I disagree," and move on.

You forget that the original kicker/holder combo was Matics and Hallock, both who got injured at different times.

The PAT miss at Southern Miss was the first PAT miss of the season. Yes Matics also missed the three FG's, but how could anyone expect us to miss that PAT? This was Critcher's first game EVER as holder and he only started to practice as holder that week.

Also, Satt didn't have much trust in the FG unit as the next game he went for it on 4th down in the red zone and never attempted a FG.

After GS, we had to convert McElfresh to a holder as Critcher moved to kicker due to Matics' injury. So now we have a kicker/holder combo who each had to start doing it mid-season.
Think it's fair to criticize Satt for not being more aggressive going for a TD on the last drive vs. Liberty. Don't see how one can blame him for USM, though.
Satt was going for the TD vs Liberty, he just ran out of downs. Why else would he call an option pitch on third down that moved to ball to Bentlee's weaker side?

The reason we "ran out of downs" is because we called two run plays, so I can only assume that was by design (otherwise it's poor playcalling/clock management).

We had 1st and 10 on the 11 yard line with about 50 seconds remaining and one time out. We called two running plays, then let the clock run down to :02 before calling time out.

Typically in that situation, a coach who's trying to score a TD would call at least one pass play. Two run plays = running down the clock so Liberty doesn't get the ball back.

It's time to give up on Operation Force-Feed the Crow, agree to disagree, and support the Apps AND THE COACH as we go on the road against the two best teams in the Sun Belt (sorry GSU).

You don't see me still gloating over my victory in the #StartLamb debate ;)

On a totally unrelated note, I saw the Guy on a Buffalo series over the weekend. I'm still laughing.

It's cheaper than adoption.
This guy is plain crazy.
Knock a stove on your foot. Ouch.
Finally, someone has pegged the reference!

On another note, some good discussion here for a change about opinions, and comments. The I can shout louder than you gang on here is plain old, set in their ways and really out of touch. Just because someone disagreed with you doesn't make them a bad person, a bad fan or a bad alum. Go about your business, I know I do.

Yes, saint I will sell your house if needed and will take 2 percent less than any other broker in the area. Why, because it is my side job and that is the App discount. Unless you live in a box or van somwhere near campus, in which I will be selling that only off of location.

I realize this is a message board and everyone has a right to an opinion. Whether it's a correct one or not only future events will decide. I myself am generally a positive person who tries to find something good in the bad. However even I can reach a breaking point sometimes. But this is also a free, open board that, at any given time, has many more guests that registered members listed on it.

That being said I'm telling all again that, express all the disgust, anger, angst, etc you want but keep it out of the recruiting threads. Believe it or don't but recruits, family and friends, and even opposing coaches read comments made on here. I have proof from each of those groups named. We had a player commit last year and within 30 seconds of me posting in the thread 3 people made negative comments about the commit. Mike at 24/7 was speaking to the recruit for an interview. The player was reading this board and brought up the fact that it appeared that people didn't want him. He decided later on not to come here. No one really knows what affect, if any, those comments had but it was not the best start for a commit to see.

Many people have made comments about how generic my thread posts are concerning a offer or commit. There is a reason for this. I don't editorialize. I just put the info needed for the commit. Doesn't mean I don't have an opinion about said player. I watch the highlights of every player we offer, realistic get or not, because it can show the qualities that we might be looking for in a certain group. But I keep my opinion out of my posts for a reason.

It's very simple in the end. No negative comments in the recruiting threads. You don't like a commit go to a pay site or AppFan to complain. Not here. The board can always go back to the way it was with threads only. 78's does a great job and things will be fine. But I'll put the recruiting pages in the trash. It's my work. I put the time in and I can throw them away anytime. It'll save me hours a day that I spend now searching and posting all this stuff. I love what I do and don't want to stop but I will not have some negative comments contribute to us losing a commit. Just consider it fair warning.

Not sure of who posted crap in the recruiting threads, but that post was a total off subject post from what we were talking about here.

No reason to shut this down, we have some good discussion going here.... That is the purpose of these boards right?

I appreciate what you do, but if you get this bent out of shape over a couple people posting in the wrong spot maybe you should trash the threads then.

This is a really sorry attempt to shut down what until now has been a good thread with discussion. I vote for just a delete of this lad's post. I have rode a donkey before, no offense taken. I would go but I just couldn't take us not being friends.

That is what this thread is about, be mature, disagree, if it bothers you that much go your own way. The ignore feature is great when you can't control impulses to respond to those you disagree with here.

Saint, make sure you ignore me on the SBC board. I wouldn't want to invade your bubble over there too.
