Take 'em to the Cleaners

Unread post by mtnjax » Sun Oct 02, 2016 6:44 pm

Ok, let's talk about some positives from yesterday. Which play gets the hit of the day?

Duck's hit on the screen to Penny Hart?

Or

Shaedon Meadors delivering the best stiff arm since AE in the 08 game in Stinkboro?

I'll go with the one that didn't get flagged and stall out a drive.

I think had he not took the helmet off the facemask call would not have been called, even though he had all his fingers wrapped around the facemask. He took it one step too far, both literally and figuratively.

You know a hit is a great one when everyone is the stands says "Oooh!" at the same time. Duck wins.

Had he not taken the helmet off at the bench he would not have gotten flagged

The stiff arm was nice, but the hit by Duck was a great football play also. Perfect read and perfect form.

I can't believe we're actually discussing this. Ducks was an actual hit. Meadors was yet another stupid penalty that killed a promising drive do no, it wasn't a great stiff arm. And for the "it wouldn't have been a penalty if he didn't pull off his helmet" crowd...We'll he did and it was and we don't need any more of that crap.

Better to discuss this than make another thread ripping a freshman kicker, don't you think?

Agree. And Meadors was more stupid than impressive. There are opportunities all the time for a ball carrier to grab the defenders face mask. Duck is going to be a good one.

Duck also was credited with a face mask penalty that wasn't his. The replay shows it was Gilchrist.

I'm all for Meador's stiff arm. I hope continues to be physical. If it helps him get the swagger back that he had before his injury, then keep it up.

The only difference between his and AE's stiff arm, is the Stink player's helmet never came off. He had a handful of face mask as well, and we all loved it

Hart is out for the year I believe. Too bad as we need them to beat some folks down the road...

I'll give you that one.

I just watched the replay on ESPN3 and since we are on the topic of alternate topics, does anyone else think Trent Miles needs to wear a bra?

I should not pile on, but hard to resist a Seinfeld moment. I am at that point in my life just about.
