We would then have to move the Georgia game as well.. that's not going to happen.

True about UGA. Good news is it should be something better than Akron, assuming this was our move.

I looked through a lot of the teams (most G5 and several P5's) and I wasn't able to find one who needed an away game. Looks like we may end up with a FCS program unless Gillin can get a couple of FBS AD's to juggle.

If it ends up being a FCS squad, hopefully DG can get ETSU or Leon up the mountain to maximize attendance. I know we have ETSU in 2019.

If it is FCS , we still owe NCCU for the Miami move don't we?

Couldn't they conceivably buy out the JMU game? ECU regularly plays one of the more difficult OOC schedules in the G5 and it shouldn't come as a surprise if they did decide to drop JMU.

Why would we agree to moved a MAC game to allow for a FCS game? If this is the case, that tells me it was Akron's influence.

The fact that it was announced on their website despite being an App home game might support that theory as well.

I'd imagine App gets paid a fee for rescheduling. If we end up with ECU, it will be a cash windfall for the program. If it ends up being a FCS, we get the Akron fee plus our regularly home game revenue.

Forgot about owing NCCU due to Miami. They could work too. I was just thinking of other local FCS programs who ultimately would bring a decent amount of fans.

Western. I'd rather never play them again, but if we are going to drop a FBS game for a FCS game, it better be a gimmick game like this, or the Mercer game (Lamb v Lamb) that was suggested . This would be WCU's Super Bowl. Attendance would be high.

Western wants too much $$$$$ to play, hope we never agree to that ransom.

Apparently, Akron sought the change as they were scheduled to travel in 3 of their 4 OOC games.
