APP STATE / IDAHO WX TREND...

Unread post by WXAPP » Tue Oct 18, 2016 1:24 pm

There are but a few moments in the collegiate football game day experience as exceptional, or as beautiful, as Boone and THE ROCK in Fall.

My fellow Mountaineers, this Homecoming Saturday will be one of the rare gems in our crown of APPSTANDING beautiful football weather memories. Looking over the modeling, I can honestly state that I am APP-oplectic at the bounty of Fall goodness Mother Nature will bestow upon our Mountaineer faithful for this game. This will be the payoff for the soggy mess of last year. Some rain possible prior to sunrise, but as the morning unfolds, the skies will clear and game time should be drenched with sunshine, crisp Fall temps and just a few clouds dotting the sky. Heaven.

The Breakdown:

6 AM - Chance for rain - Mid 40s

8 AM - Clearing starts - Mid 40s

Noon - Partly cloudy to mostly sunny - 50

KICKOFF - Mostly sunny. Lower to mid 50s

Halftime - Mostly sunny. Lower to mid 50s

END OF GAME - Mostly clear. Upper 40s to lower 50s.

Hope to see you there!

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

Looking forward to it. Just trying to get my house up early is the issue.

Some weather forecasts are now showing a trend to a colder day (upper 40's) and a strong wind. Be interesting to see WXAPP take on this. Hopefully get an update before we head out Friday morning. Either way it's looking like winter clothes!! Go Apps!!

Well.. as of today, Wednesday, it does appear things could be a bit blustery. Pretty tight pressure gradient being advertised, between the departing low over the NE and the high building in from the SW. I am a bit skeptical and how rapidly the low deepens over the NE. So, will wait on a few more data runs to see if a clear trend is on the menu. Sunshine and dry, however, is not in question. Temps, well, that may need to be tweaked towards the colder side of life as well. I'll do a full update Thursday.
