I love watching him play. He and Darryton Evans are doing great stuff, especially considering that they're both true freshmen.

Good luck passing on us next year with Gibbs back. Gibbs and Duck will be a force. Add to that Josh Thomas and AJ Howard.

You may be surprised with the guys who will be RS Fr next year. Word is they are showing out on the Scout team, big time. Our secondary is going to be deep and strong for years to come.

Duck's second interception was much more impressive. High-pointed the ball against a taller WR and came down with it.

Indeed, looking at the roster there seems to be a nice stash big bodied DB's waiting patiently to make an impact.

You could see that INT coming as soon as Linehan threw the ball. Duck had a good day. Great win, but whew, I'm still cold. LOL! Go Apps!

LEGION OF BOONE!!!
Need the crowd to start chanting "L.O.B." anytime the secondary gets a pick.

Definitely need a "quack-quack" through the PA every time he makes a play.

Got to give Norwood some credit on the pick 6 as well since his pressure forced the high throw.

One thing that's been missing from the thread and the congrats to Duck is the fact that he was pulled twice at UL-L. Had some bad reads and missed tackles. They pulled him in the first half, started him after halftime and pulled him again soon after another missed tackle. I commented on another board that he was a true freshman and was due for a bad game. The measure of a good versus a great player is how they respond to adversity. I think it's a testament to him that he, especially being a true freshman, was able to not only come back in practice and earn his spot back but to have the game he had. Great job Clifton!!!

One thing that has helped on 3rd downs is that we have gone to 5 DBs. AJ Howard plays in an outside linebacker role on those plays. Hayes and Thomas come in for the secondary. They've done an excellent job in those situations.
Another thing is Duck and Williams have been excellent in one on one coverage. It allows the coaches against run heavy teams to load the box with a safety high. I would expect to see that look this Thursday.

The wind caught the ball. He was beat and had Linehan let go of the ball 1 second earlier on a rope it could've been a TD. Instead he lofted it which was ill advised. If you watch the gif of the pick 6, Duck cut on the pass the second Linehan even thought about throwing it. Great anticipation play and it's made even better by the fact that the traffic in front of him didn't disrupt his timing in catching and running.

I haven't seen anyone mention this but, aside from an obviously great interception, I was very impressed by the speed that Duck showed. Anybody know what his 40 time is? Was it just me, or what he showing outstanding speed on that touchdown run?

My point as well 84. Duck was smooth as silk in his stride, and he held the ball properly with the point of the ball toward his shoulder. He is listed as a returner on the two deep.

He had to loft it, as was mentioned above, we had a player jumping with arms up in his face, no way to throw a rope
