I believe that actually has us as an 8th seed. If we were 16th, we would be playing #1 in our first game.

All seeds WEST of the Mississippi, interesting. I don't remember that ever happenening. After losing to The Citadel we are fortunate to have fought back into the playoff picture this year, but we still have to beat FU.

IF we get by our first game, any scenario is going to be extremely difficult because more than likely APP has to get on an airplane to W of the Mississippi where we have never faired well. But, one of these days we'll win a game in the WEST.

Any playoff game this year is gravy considering the youth and injuries and etc.

The Big Sky better not get 3 of the top 4 seeds.

I think it's doubtful we'll see 3 seeds from the Big Sky. Montana St. still has to play at the Griz in "the brawl" and NAU still has a tough Cal Poly team. NDSU has a difficult finish with SDSU and Ill St. to close out the regular season. These last couple of weeks will be fun to watch unfold. ASU needs to take care of business this weekend and then get 2 weeks to rest up and get healthy for a run.

That other prediction is garbage... Only way possible for GS to get autobid is for ASU to loose. That would change a lot so I don't see GSU with the auto bid at this point.

I can't understand why GSU is still ranked significantly higher than ASU in the polls. They both have 2 conference losses and, if things play out like they should, they will both have an FBS loss and 2 two FCS OOC wins. The biggest difference is that we have one (maybe 2) quality OOC wins and they will have none and we beat them head-to-head.

Maybe it is just a result of the timing since we've already lost three games due to our schedule.

No way we don't get a bye and GaSo does and we beat them head to head and they limp in with an FBS loss to equal out FBS loss.

In reference to the TSN projection; How is Northern Arizona seeded 4th when they are 11th in the polls?

New TSN bracket up.

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/fcs/FCS_Bracket.pdf

I don't know much about the non SoCon teams. As much as I don't want to play Mon St. I'd be glad to be in the opposite half from NDSU, ODU, GSU, and Woff.

We'll we'd have to get by anothr CAA team which we haven't faired well as of late. UNH can flat out score points.

I'm OK with that bracket. We might have to travel to Mont. State. That will be tough, but we can do it. More importantly, the only way we'd face GaSo again is in the champeenship game in Frisco.

Since ASU has completed its regular season, I think we can safely look ahead to the playoffs. I enjoy speculating at playoff brackets. Below is my projection based on this week’s standings which I also posted on AGS. Much will likely change next week:

Colgate at E. Illinois winner at #1 ND State
New Hampshire at SD State

Bethune Cookman at N. Arizona winner at #4 Sam Houston St
Central Arkansas at #5 E. Washington

Wagner at Villanova winner at #2 Montana St
Illinois St at Georgia Southern

Coastal Carolina at Wofford winner at #3 Old Dominion
Richmond at Appalachian St

Some notes… Indiana St will likely be in the field if they beat YSU next week. 4 CAA teams could be a stretch since conference is perceived weaker than it historically has been. I project UCA and NAU as the 12 and 13th teams right now but gave UCA the first round bye for now based on the Big Sky schedule where NAU did not play either MSU or EWU. I don’t have Lehigh or Stony Brook in the field right now but (1) much can change next week and (2) there always is a surprise in the field. I believe that GSU, UNH and ASU (in no particular order) are the teams that are next in line for seeds if we see upsets at the top next weekend. It will be fun to watch next weekend's games without the stress! By the way, congrats App players and coaches for our strong (albeit heartstopping) finish in the second half of the season! Get healthy and let's make a playoff run!
