Troy gets top 25.....what could have been for us.

Not sure with the Miami beat down but who knows.

We would not have gotten in had we beat Troy. They got 28 votes last week, or something like that.

We could have gotten in with a little more discipline and focus.

Doubtful, I think it's more that Troy has only lost once. If we had beaten them we would have gotten more votes but probably not ranked.

Yeah, I agree. We would have gotten votes, but wouldn't be in. With Troy only having one loss and that being to Clemson (and Clemson is still a heck of a team, despite the one loss), it makes sense. We're a much tougher case with two losses now-unranked teams.

First Sun Belt team ever ranked. It is a great accomplishment, one I was hoping we achieved. I don't think we would have been ranked this week had we beaten Troy, but I do think that had we beaten Troy and won out that we would have been ranked in the final ranking which is a great way to end the year and give positive traction for the next season. When you finish a season ranked, it is that much easier to start the next season ranked.

Good for them. We are a field goal and 4th stop away from being ranked ourselves. Very slim margin for error.
