**UPDATED** APP STATE / ULM WX TRENDS
Posted: Thu Nov 17, 2016 2:23 pm
I'm tossing the old forecast and issuing a major re-write.
Friends, as it stands, on this Thursday post, this game will be one for the true Mountaineers at heart. We have a better sense for the timing of the cold front and the impact for fans, the players and those poor souls from ULM who will be in Boone for some football! I'll say this much, the weather advantage should be in our court.
The high for the day will be reached early in the morning. Falling temps, windy, gusty, a mix of rain and snow, and then a hits of just snow appear possible as Saturday unfolds. The bigger snow potential will hold until late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. I don't see travel problems. Bring your winter best, as you'll need it for the stands and even the pre-game tailgating. It won't be the Elon game all those years ago, but this one will have a bite. Seems appropriate given the overall good weather for home games this year, and it's our last home game of the season.
Here ya go...
6 AM: Chance for rain, mid 40s.
10 AM: Chance for rain, lower 40s, Winds ramping up.
NOON: Mostly cloudy, low chance for rain, lower 40s, blustery and gusty 30-40 MPH. Wind chill Low 30s
KICKOFF: Small chance for rain / snow, mid 30s, blustery and gusty winds 30-40 MPH. Wind chill low 20s
HALFTIME: Small chance for flurries, low 30s, blustery and gusty winds 30-40 MPH. Wind chill mid 10s
END OF GAME: Snow shower possible, low 30s, blustery and gusty winds 30-40 MPH. Wind chill mid 10s.
This will be the roughest weather game of the season. Pack the "Apple Pie", hands, and foot warmers, and bundle up. But come put your butt in the seat and cheer on our MOUNTAINEERS!
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
