In this Jerry does confirm the medicine related suspension for Bufort and says they are still appealing, but don't expect him back in a game this season. Apparently a banned substance that's been in a medicine he's been taking for many years.

Every now and then, Jerry will just say something out of nowhere that is news to us. Last year he just blurted out our non-conference schedule for this season months before it was announced.
I pretty much deduced that it was a drug test failure for Dufort and heard about the medication story. The whole team got a surprise drug test in late August by the NCAA.

Speaking of learning things we didn't expect to hear, coach Moore said after the game Saturday that Andrew Peacock is our third option at quarterback. Reading between the lines, he might also be our second option.

I like how Coach Moore couldn't remember the name of a starting offensive lineman that was so important to the game at UTC and was suspended 20 mins. before arriving in Chattanooga.
It's Regan Dufort.
And, if he is still practicing with the team, as coach Moore says, it seems he would know his name.

I had a great chat with Andrew Peacock's grandmother in Statesboro. It seems his whole family is a basketball family for many, many years. Andrew played travel baseball and was quite the centerfielder.AppGrad78 wrote:Speaking of learning things we didn't expect to hear, coach Moore said after the game Saturday that Andrew Peacock is our third option at quarterback. When Andrew went to high school, he told his dad he was going to try out for football. His dad was adamant that he would not try out for football because he was too small. Andrew had other ideas and went out anyway. When he came home from tryouts, he told his dad he had made the team. His dad stated again that Andrew would not be playing football. Andrew's response, "But Dad, I'm the quarterback." It seems Andrew translated his centerfield skills to the gridiron with alacrity.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Ask Coach Moore the kid's number. He'll have that down cold.sixtoes9134 wrote:I like how Coach Moore couldn't remember the name of a starting offensive lineman that was so important to the game at UTC and was suspended 20 mins. before arriving in Chattanooga.

That's true! Even at Ladies Football 101, he'd be kinda floundering for a kid's name and then just call him by his number. He'd comment, "I don't know their name so I just call 'em #....." After ALL the young men through ALL his years, I can certainly cut him some slack on this!
