Time to Finish this Season STRONG!

Not a prediction thread...

Okay team. Last week showed a lot of character.

Now its time to show some consistency. This is FU. They beat us last year, they stand in our way for a conference championship. They don't care that we are App State, it doesn't mean anything to them. They want to come to our turf and make us look as bad as they possibly can. They will show us no respect. They think they are better both athletically and academically and you couldn't go to their school. They are arrogant, they will tell you "FU" in our stadium, and they freakin wear purple.
They are the only team in our conference with a winning record against us.

Please show up this week. Nothing will be given to us because of the name on our jerseys. We have to take it from them. Let it show in our preparation and our execution. Take care of business!!!

Ditto. The only thing I would add to this fine post is that we as App fans should treat Furman fans as we would want to be treated. Let's kick some Furple butt on the field, while we treat visiting fans as guests.

No doubt, and I completely agree. As badly as I want to beat them, it is still a game, and we should always show class in the stands and on the field.

Furman has played everyone tough and won't lie down against the Apps. Furman still hold the series lead against App and I would really like to see us get one step closer on that. They will be well rested and have had 2 weeks to heal and prepare against a tired and banged up App. For once App needs to come out firing on all cylinders and get to the early lead and demoralize them. We also need to personally escort Bobby Lamb to The Rock and give him a special standing spot near the East End Zone.

Go Apps!

Our boys in black and gold definitely need to put it all together again this weekend. Can't wait to be there with my kids supporting them loud and proud. My experience last week in Statesboro was eye opening but it just makes me more resolved to be the loudest, proudest, die - hard, hardcore, classy, enthusiastic ASU fan I can be. You really can be a great college football fan that bleeds your schools colors yet has it all in perspective and respects the other school, players and fans. The vast majority of us prove that at KBS every home game Saturday. Win or lose make it a point to seek out a Furman fan and thank them for coming and supporting their team or wish them good luck or tell them good game, safe travels or whatever. It really does make a difference. Love to here "that Rock is a tough place to get a win but you know those ASU fans were some good folks." :D

By APPs standards that have been built since 2004, the win at GSU or Hell was a season salvaging win provided we seal the deal with FU this Saturday.

However, over the last 2 seasons APP has had a game where if you watched against Wofford and Georgia Southern that would make you think that APP was hands down the best team in the FCS but has gone on to lay an egg in the playoffs at The Rock against CAA teams that begin with V and M.

Is this the third consecutive year that will happen? I hope not since we are under new and upgraded management this season. If you compared talent of the last 3 teams, in my honest opinion our 2012 version of the Mountaineers would be the overall (both sides of the ball) least talented of the 3 and back to 2004 as well. Combined with suspensions and injuries and youth this year, the GSU win was very impressive, I'd like to think we still have enough not to lay an egg against a hated rival in FU and can earn some respect and momentum for next season in the playoffs.

You probably meant east side of the south end zone. ;)

I'm not ready to discuss playoffs quite yet... To me, this game is about redemption on several levels, starting with Furmans upset of us last year, the uninspired loss in the playoffs, following through this season where we lost two home games, and then showing that we can beat a great opponent and not have a letdown the next week. Show me that we are hungry, prepared, and ready to finish. Show me that we don't think we are entitled just because we are App State, but we are prepared to give whatever it takes to win. Show me improvement from the last game. If we can do this, then maybe, just maybe, we might be ready to go into the playoffs with the right attitude.... Right now, take care of business this saturday!

Show me you can do something you have been unable to do in well over a year now, and beat a Southern Conference team from South Carolina!!!

I did say "provided we seal the deal with FU this Saturday"

Are we the same team from the last 2 years or are we different?

I think you and I just skinned the cat differently. :)

As of today, the playoffs are still possible with a loss to FU and anybody will tell you APP is still in any discussion as of today with 2 more weeks of regular season to go.

Not sure I buy into this notion of going out of my way to THANK Furman fans for coming as some are suggesting. I will treat Furman fans as I do any other visiting team's fans, with exception of the Grizz - ignore them!

Ultimately they come to see their team play, and they'll get to do just that.

Oh, I think you and I are pretty much in agreement. I think this saturday will answer a lot of questions regarding if we are ready or not. I've been pretty much of a pessimist this entire season, but I want to hope that last saturday was a turning point with this team.

No problems with ignoring folks. I do have problems with App fans acting like some of the GaSo refuse we saw last week.

You ignore 'em. I'll thank 'em.

I witnessed some pretty disgusting behavior at the last home game down in our music lot. Of course, it was a drunk student, but was yelling obscenities at Wofford fans... Until I yelled at him. I just dont understand that type of behavior. We should have it be un-hospitable on the field, just don't know why people have to act that way. When I see it, I will handle it. If we would all do that, we would be fine.

Like you, I prefer the notion of "policing" our own and stopping them before giving the pleasure to an opposing fan. If that behavios is observed, remind them to be somebody with class. Go Apps!
