Jerry Palm projects Las Vegas Bowl
Jerry Palm projects us to the Las Vegas bowl to play San Diego St. That would be great as far as an opponent. That may be the best team we would have a chance to play. I'm not sure how many fans would make that trip.

For everyone who's been asking for two years to get out of the Sun Belt bowls and go elsewhere, here you go. I don't think this is likely to happen, but interesting that someone is predicting it.

I would actually be okay with this outcome. While travel would suck, the bowl opponent would be very nice, location would be a nice vacation, the date is early again, and it would be a totally different experience from last year.

Re: Jerry Palm projects Las Vegas Bowl
Seven Pac-12 bowl tie-ins and only 6 teams with 6 wins . . . and one of these is Washington which will probably go to the playoffs, so that means 2 of these bowl games will have to find replacement teams . . . Jerry is predicting us and Air Force to take those slots . . . interesting, maybe Vegas feels they are a draw enough for any fan base, regardless of distance. Still, probably unlikely, but it sure is fun to speculate.

Agreed. I'd want to play in the Flint Bowl if it meant the best opponent we could face.B30020 wrote:so three of our five bowl locations are Las Vegas, New Orleans and Orlando! Wherever we go I just want to play the best team available!!

Who on this MMB would travel to Las Vegas for a bowl?

I'd have to price flights and hotels, but I'd go if it's affordable.

Allegiant Air and Frontier both fly to Las Vegas. Both are pretty cheap. Hotels I have zero clue.EastHallApp wrote:I'd have to price flights and hotels, but I'd go if it's affordable.

Re: Jerry Palm projects Las Vegas Bowl
It would easily cost more than $500 per person for flight, hotel, food, and tickets. That's way out of my price range.
I can't imagine a round trip flight from Charlotte or Greensboro to Las Vegas for less than $500.

I just looked at packages on Expedia. Flight round trip from Charlotte to Vegas and two nights in a hotel (rated 4.2 out of 5 on reviews) for $530

Multiply that x 2 for a couple, plus food and tickets.kickass143 wrote:I just looked at packages on Expedia. Flight round trip from Charlotte to Vegas and two nights in a hotel (rated 4.2 out of 5 on reviews) for $530
