Gentlemen: Start your Playoff Beards!
OK...I haven't seen anything this topic lately so I think it needs to be said. Now that the regular season is over, I have officially started my "playoff beard." I've done this every year since 2005 until last year. I didn't grow one last year because I was in the job market. We all see how that worked out!
It used to be a tradition on MMB for the men to grow a playoff beard. Has anyone else started? I will not shave mine until we either lose or win the championship. The advantage of having TWO weekends off is that it should be looking decent by the first playoff game.
GO APPS!!!!

Got mine growing. Started in 2005 as well. Shaved in 2008 because I had just started a job after college, and well, we know how 2008 ended. I felt like I had cursed the playoffs

Well since I'm retired now that someone broke the concrete of someones feet at SSA. I don't have to look purdy for any jobs. However I'll still will have to run this flag up the pole and see if someone at the pentagon (wife) salutes it and allows it to written into the dress code in this one man's army.Yosef84 wrote:OK...I haven't seen anything this topic lately so I think it needs to be said. That's a cool idea. Wish I could participate, but still in uniform and my Sergeant Major would blow a gasket. 5 years and I will be retired and can 'attempt' to grow one. I think I will look for a good fake ZZ Top beard to purchase.

I have gone with the "Van Dyke". I used to grow a full beard, but now it's got too much grey and I prefer not to look too much like Santa.Snwbrdro wrote:Got about a 3 week one growing!!!! Will trim up the kneck but that's it. Never done a playoff beard. Will do so this year!

I've always loved the playoff beard tradition, but:
For those of us that are only capable of reverse Hitler mustaches and thick neck beards, would a playoff pubic fro be an acceptable substitute?
