Your favorite memory of the season.
Re: Your favorite memory of the season.
Maybe I'm wrong but the whole Miami was one of the biggest moments in App history and the day lived up to it. And honestly minus a few plays it was still an entertaining game, score board says otherwise but minus a holding penalty and some missed tackles we could have been in that game. I was at both Neyland and that game and this year was something special. Neyland hurts worse for me.

1. Walking into the packed stadium at the Miami game so full of pride. (Yep...game was a bummer but that opening was pure adrenaline!)
2. Hearing our small corner of Nehland Stadium cheer "APP...STATE" so loud it echoed around a stunned UT stadium
3. (Tie) Deliriously hugging and high five-ing everyone around me after Evans' 94 yard TD kick return last week
4. (Tie) Taking a victory drink from Beer Hat Guy's mysterious plastic baggie during the awards ceremony

Watching on RISE, Tyson Fernandez' reaction to finding the conference championship tee shirt in his locker after practice. I both laughed and teared up when I saw that.

Not really a favorite, but a cool moment this season that I just thought of.
I believe it was against Texas State where we had 3 WR's all catch their 1st career touchdown passes. Barbour, Capel and Adams. For Barbour and Adams, we can only hope for many more, but it turned out to be Capel's only career TD.

9/1/16: it hurt at the time but - Telling some condescending Tennessee fans to "kiss my fat rebel ass" after they said "we gave them a good scare, and should be proud...". That game still hurts very bad, and they gotta know inside they were lucky to get that win, but they understood that we came there to win after our conversation.

Re: Your favorite memory of the season.
This is my 31st year of going to App football games and I've only missed 5 home games. I was going to games when you could park right in front of the stadium, purchase a $10 general admission ticket and pretty much sit wherever you'd like. I've been to all 3 national championship games, the Michigan game and both bowl games. Not sure why but this year I feel we have really arrived and for me the Miami game was the proof. I had so many Miami fans say that our tailgating is tops with anyone in the country. I also went to a Wake game one Saturday with a Wake grad friend of mine and he was telling everyone you haven't seen tailgating until you've been to and App game. He kept telling everyone, you gotta go next year.

Still say that was an incomplete illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage.ashugh wrote:EastHallApp wrote:

Nuff said.
Game-winning TDs in overtime by the other team aren't really my favorite memories, but maybe that's just me.
Thing is, you're no allowed to advance a fumble. That play should have been down where the ball came out if UT recovers it, which they did. It was, by rule, not a touchdown.

I agree....but those officials had a keen sense of self preservation.AppfaninCAALand wrote:Still say that was an incomplete illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage.ashugh wrote:EastHallApp wrote:

When the Louisiana replay official ruled that Justice Hansen of Arkansas State's knee was down before lateraling the football.

Rubino kicking the winning FG in the Camelia Bowl after all the grief he got from missing the extra point in the Tennessee game that would have kept us from having to go into OT. We would have won in regulation had he made the that XP.

Thinking back through this amazing season, I can't come up with anything sweeter (or surprising) than Evans 90 some yard TD kick off return in the Camellia Bowl! Once he got to the sideline and saw the end zone, he was not going to be denied! IMO it was the biggest play in our beautiful bowl victory!!

I somehow forgot about that. You're right, it probably was the biggest event in our season..kickass143 wrote:Thinking back through this amazing season, I can't come up with anything sweeter (or surprising) than Evans 90 some yard TD kick off return in the Camellia Bowl!
