Any rumors about the other games besides ETSU and Charlotte?

I'd say he already has them back to form, as .500 is their historical norm. What Spurrier did there was the outlier.APPdiesel wrote:I'd like to see us travel to South Carolina or Virginia. Virginia would be more beatable as I believe Will Muschamp will have SC back to form by 2019. (fingers crossed that a "we'll schedule you ASAP" clause was mixed into the deal when SC snagged UMass out from under us)
I want Washington State. I like Mike Leach and they play in the smallest stadium in the Pac-12. And I think it'd be fun to go up against their air-raid offense.moonshine wrote:Maybe DG can get a h/h with BYU.
Someone remind me why we're playing ETSU?!?happyappycw wrote:Any rumors about the other games besides ETSU and Charlotte?
Because they're a nearby FCS, and we need FCS games to offset road-only money games.ASU3432Mi wrote:Someone remind me why we're playing ETSU?!?happyappycw wrote:Any rumors about the other games besides ETSU and Charlotte?
And they're very very cheapEastHallApp wrote:Because they're a nearby FCS, and we need FCS games to offset road-only money games.ASU3432Mi wrote:Someone remind me why we're playing ETSU?!?happyappycw wrote:Any rumors about the other games besides ETSU and Charlotte?
I'd expect them to bring some people too, being so close./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:And they're very very cheapEastHallApp wrote:Because they're a nearby FCS, and we need FCS games to offset road-only money games.ASU3432Mi wrote:Someone remind me why we're playing ETSU?!?happyappycw wrote:Any rumors about the other games besides ETSU and Charlotte?
We would've beaten them in 2016. Go Apps!kiddbrewer wrote:I think the ECU deal is finally going to come out.
i used the term "money game" not to say that we can't compete, but to signify that we don't get a return game. For instance, Miami is a top tier P5, but our return game with them isn't a money game because we won't get paid for it.ericsaid wrote:There will be no such thing as money games going forward. The team will have the talent to go and compete with almost any P5 App has scheduled. These will be called away games at Top Tier P5 schools, not necessarily just for money, as seen in the Tennessee game.
I see. I'm just not a fan of a defeatist attitude that permeates discussion among G5 programs when talking about games against P5 schools. Some are more manageable than others, however, App State is FBS now and has talent coming in that is better than App has ever had which leaves little excuse for that attitude to permeate here. The days of "take the money and run" are over. The first step is for the attitude of "as long as we keep it within 3 TD's i'll be happy" to go.EastHallApp wrote:i used the term "money game" not to say that we can't compete, but to signify that we don't get a return game. Also, I'm a fan of conciseness, and "away games at top tier P5 schools" is a mouthful.
I can't wait for us to get ECU into Kidd-Brewer, but I don't think it will be 2019. They're schedule looks full until 2021+.kiddbrewer wrote:I think the ECU deal is finally going to come out.
When someone pays you to come to their stadium it is a money game. If we lose we get paid, if we win we get paid. It is a money game and that money is VERY important to the program. We are still a ways away from competing evenly with these teams on a consistent basis. There is no shame in that. As far as FBS we are still in diapers.ericsaid wrote:There will be no such thing as money games going forward. The team will have the talent to go and compete with almost any P5 App has scheduled.
