You know there's a buyout. Plus, even if Satt leaves midterm he leaves the school with something to show for it, assuming it's a decent amount.

Anybody know how much his yearly salary is to be? The announcements usually tell, but not this one.

I doubt Satterfield is here in 5 years. If he continues this success it will be hard to turn down some of the offers thrown his way. Sometimes passing on offers can hurt future offers even from different schools. I am happy to have him now, and most excited about the 2017 season. What the future holds who knows. DG has impressed me enough already to feel comfortable that he would find a great replacement should the day come Satt leaves.

Wasn't he already under contract until 2020? His new contract goes to 2021. So my guess is its more of a restructuring for a higher salary.

Correct on the years. I would agree with your guess on salary. Interested to see when those terms become available. Wonder if they might also include larger incentive bonuses. No info there, just speculating.

I would assume Satt and his staff might have seen a little bump in pay. I also feel certain we did not lessen our position with regard to buyout dollars.

$425,000 per year for the remainder of his contract. Previously, it went up 25k a year through 2020. So he's actually taking a base pay cut over time.

$600/month car allowance.

Monthly retention bonus of $12,500 (155k extra a year), which goes up to above $15,000 by 2021. Was around 10k previously.

Big thing is that he's pretty much now the centerpiece of the Yosef Club. Over $100,000 a year (and goes up each succesive year to $220,000 in 2021) in an "anual fund payment" in which he's contracted for at minimum 25 Yosef Club apperances a year.

Buyout is basically the same as before. The cost of that current year of his base salary.

Very nice upgrade for Satt. Would love him to stay through it.

Not a very favorable buyout clause for the university.

Read his comments about security......it's important. BUT
Of course a 5 year $1mil+ a year from a P5 would make anyone secure.

Gillin is doing everything he can to make it tough for Satt to leave. That's all we can ask.
