Sun Belt divisions, title game details announced
Can't find a link to the release itself, but I'll trust that Adam knows what he's talking about:

"Winners of each division will meet in champ. Played at home stadium of div. winner w/ highest CFP ranking."
So I guess the Red Wolves will have to start winning their OOC games if they want a chance to host.

Question: what does this mean for our OOC schedule? Are we going to need to find 2 more games to play? Or will we rotate through two West teams every season in addition to our 4 divisional games?

Also, will the divisional winner be determined by how they play against just their divisional opponents or will all SBC games count? LOVE the prospect of having a championship game at The Rock!Boone Goon wrote:Question: what does this mean for our OOC schedule? Are we going to need to find 2 more games to play? Having a title game at the ROCK in December might just get the fcs crowd back to a game. Can't wait to get teams to Boone for a little pre Christmas fun !

I don't think that it is just a coincidence that the perception of the Sunbelt has began to change after adding APP to their conference.

Eight-game schedule (same as we've had previously), so that means everyone will play the rest of the league, minus one cross-divisional opponent.Rick83 wrote:Also, will the divisional winner be determined by how they play against just their divisional opponents or will all SBC games count? I'm sure the division winners will be full conference record, as that's just how it's always done.

If they won't come in September to see us play Miami or Wake then they ain't coming in December. If there are still those out there boycotting.....well I want to say something else but instead I'll just shake my head and say God Blessem.MDaniels84 wrote:Having a title game at the ROCK in December might just get the fcs crowd back to a game. Is this really a thing? Are there App fans boycotting because we moved? If you are on this board, please speak up and explain your rationale.proasu89 wrote:If they won't come in September to see us play Miami or Wake then they ain't coming in December. Finally...A true way to determine conference champ. Not champs, but champ. I figured it would be this way..Mirrors other G5 conferences. It is very exciting to know there is a chance next season we could host a conference title game.

Looks to me that the east is a stronger division, but it will be all the sweeter to beat the gnats and keep them from any chance of a title game year in and year out.

I know people who wish we would not have moved but most are season ticket holders and make every game. I don't know of anyone "boycotting". I think some of you guys just like to poke the bear.yosef13 wrote:Is this really a thing? Are there App fans boycotting because we moved? This is great. Love the title game played at a home stadium. Rewards the team that had the better season. Great for fans. Much better atmosphere than 25-30K at a large neutral field stadium

Arkansas State fans should start looking into early-December timeshares in Boone.

Of course, the first championship game won't be until 2018, a year with a new QB. I also don't assume GS will remain down. For the foreseeable future the East will likely be a dogfight.

Re: Sun Belt divisions, title game details announced
GS will not remain down. The East is definitely stronger at this point, but the West has potential assuming that USA can gain some consistency and Texas State can improve (which I believe they will based on coaching staff and recruiting). The future looks very interesting.
I will hate to see Taylor Lamb graduate but I do think we have some pretty good QB talent in the wings. I don't expect there to be the vacuum that was left when Armanti graduated.

Re: Sun Belt divisions, title game details announced
It's not too far afield to suggest that the 2018 Sun Belt Championship could be played on The Rock with App defending back-to-back conference titles . . .
“When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”
